Cody was 13 and while robbing a man, the victim punched him in the face. The man tried to run, but was tripped by troy ball and held him down for Cody. Cody stomped the victim for 20 minutes and left him unconscious in the alley. The man ended up lapsing into a coma and was permanently disfigured from the stomping. Police told bystanders "whoever had done this had to be a MONSTER" The name stuck with him almost the whole entire book.
