axonal terminal

An axon terminal is the structure of a neuron (a single cell of the central or peripheral nervous system) at the end of it's axon that forms a synapse with another neuron. Generally, the axon terminal is the point at which a neuron passes information to the neurons with which it is connected.

Axon

Axons transmit signals away from the cell body.

dendrites

Dendrites transmit signals into the cell body. Dendrites are the branched projections of a neuron that act to conduct the electrical stimulation received from other neural cells to the cell body, or soma, of the neuron from which the dendrites project.

myelin sheath

Myelin is a fatty substance that insulates and protects nerve cells and allows them to transmit electrical signals quickly.

cell body

The main part of the neuron, containing the nucleus and other organelles and serving as the site of the cell's metabolic reactions; processes input from the dendrites and if input is large enough relays to the axon, where an impulse is initiated.
