When a person has good cardiovascular fitness, the heart and lungs work well, and oxygen is easily and efficiently carried to the different parts of the body. A person with good cardiovascular fitness finds it easy to run, walk, or climb stairs without breathing too hard. A person who does not have good cardiovascular fitness will breathe very hard when doing these types of activities and may feel tired afterward.
