psalm 79 verse 4

We are objects of contempt to our neighbors, of scorn and derision to those around us. This is talking about terrible people who are killing the isrealites. However, I think it can be applied to almost everybody. Humans view eachother as objects and it is honestly aweful that this is the case. I pray that I can view people as the creation of the Lord they are.

book II: psalm 42 verse 1-2

as the deer pants for streams of water so my soul pants for you, my God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When can I go and meet with God? Getting involved with CRU this year and really finding my faith has shown me just how true this is. Just like you can be dehydrated and not know it, my soul was seriously thirsting for God, and I know that as long as I continue to get to know God, I will never be thirsty again.

psalm 76 verse 6

at your rebuke, God of Jacob, both horse and chariot lie still I picked this verse because it shows God's power. I mean all it takes is for him to scold a horse and a chariot (an inadimate object) and they simply lay down. It's incredible.

psalm 43 verse 23-24

awake Lord! Why do you sleep? Rouse yourself! Do not reject us forever. Why do you hide your face and forget our misery and oppression? I think it is easy to feel that way today. When I look at America's culture of sex, money, power, fame, and sin, it seems as though God may have abandoned it. However, that is not true. I know God has a plan and is present, and the fact that people like my CRU family exist show that this is true.

psalm 22 verse 30-31

Posterity will serve him; future generations will be told about the LORD. They will proclaim his righteousness declaring to a people yet unborn: he has done it! This passage shows the power of GOD. Jesus' name will be praised until the end of the world, and it is up to this generation (me included) to pass down his story to the next generation.

psalm 72 verse 18

Praise be to the LORD God, the God of Isreal, who alone does marvelous deeds. Only God is capable of doing marvelous deeds. Literally every good thing in my life and in this world comes as a result of God's will and grace, and I pray that I always remember this.

psalm 39 verse 6-7

surely everyone goes around like a mere phantom; in vain they rush about, heaping up wealth without knowing whose it will finally be. But now, Lord, what do I look for; my hope is in you. Lord, the wealth of this world (money, power, position admiration, beauty etc.) is so tempting. However, it's tempting because it is taking advantage of the darkness inside me and every other human. I am not perfect, and I need your help to resist the world's temptations.

psalm 62 verse 4

surely the intend to topple me from my lofty place; they take delight in lies. With their mouths they bless, but in their hearts they curse. This mouth and heart analogy is interesting. It is easy to say your religious or to tell somebody they look good today, but the lifestyle or comment are not powerful in any way unless you truly mean it in your heart.

psalm 46 verse 11

the Lord Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress. The image of God as a fortress is compelling to me. A fortress' only goal is to protect the people inside. It is not an army that goes out and kills others, but will only harm others if they attack its occupants. I picture God as the ultimate fortress that protects me from sin and evil people while harming nobody.

psalm 70 verse 5

But as for me, I am poor and needy; come quickly to me, O God. You are my help and my deliverer; Lord, do not delay. I totally agree with this. I am a poor needy individual who needs God. Without God, I would go crazy, I would not be able do well in school, I would not be able to get through all my work, lift weights, nothing!! I do not have the strength, but you do lord.

psalm 75 verse 6

No one from the east or the west or from the desert can exalt themselves. I certainly struggle with self praise, but all the praise I give to myself should be directed towards God because without him, I could do literally nothing!

psalm 80 verse 14

Return to us, God Almighty! Look down from heaven and see! Watch over this vine Clearly the prayers of the Isrealites were answered when God sent Jesus down to care for his people and die on the cross in the ultimate sacrifice. I am so lucky to live in a time period after the coming of Jesus!

psalm 89 verse 31-33

if they violate my decrees and fail to keep my commands, I will punish their sin with the rod, their iniquity with flogging; but I will not take my love from him nor will I ever betray my faithfulness. Life may beat us down, but God always has a plan and his love is always with us.

psalm 56 verse 10-11

in God, whose word I praise, in the Lord, whose word I praise-in God I trust and am not afraid. What can man do to me? It's hard to remember this sometimes, but if God is on my side man really can't do anything to me. It doesn't matter how stressful or busy my life is. These afflictions are things of man and God supersedes and destroys them. With faith in God, no stress or hardships can touch me.

psalms 82 verse 5

"The 'gods' know nothing, they understand nothing. They walk about in darkness; all the foundations of the earth are shaken. I think of the gods as the parts of my life such as school, pleasure, lifting, friends etc. None of these things are bad if they are below God. However, ultimately these things will amount to nothing and it's important that I do not let them rise above God.

Psalm six verse 8

Away from me all who do evil for the lord has heard my weeping. In the context of my life during the second semester of my sophomore year this makes me think of the family I found in CRU. I was definitely weeping due to lack of many high quality friends who did not party and drink. The Lord heard my weeping and brought me into CRU casting all the bad influences in my life (my enemies) out of my life.

psalm 32 verse 9

Do not be like the horse or the mule, which have no understanding but must be controlled by bit and bridle or they will not come to you. I think this verse is saying that you should not follow your faith blindly. If you do not understand what you are doing and are just following other's directions, then you are not really participating in your faith.

psalm 69 verse 15

Do not let the the floodwaters engulf me or the depths swallow me up or the pit close its mouth over me. This verse is asking God to stop these bad things from happening. It makes me reflect on the fact that I am totally in God's merciful hands. I can't stop these things from happening, but God can and I pray that I can always remain in the shelter of his love.

psalm 94 verse 9

Does he who fashioned the eye not see? Does he who formed the ear not hear? When I read this verse, I said out loud, "wow, I really like this verse!" It's so true, you can never hide anything from the Lord. All my wrongdoings are laid at his feet and he sees them, but it's up to me to ask for his forgiveness.

Psalm 23 verse 4

Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff they comfort me. I can't put into words how blessed I feel to have the LORD walking beside me. I know that with him, I can do anything and I have nothing to fear in this world. (tests, social problems, and other difficulties pale in the face of the Lord).

psalm 55 verse 17

Evening, ,morning, and noon I cry out in distress, and he hears my voice. This line really shows that me entire day not just one little part should be dedicated to the Lord. Without him, I would not even be able to breath and I need to get better at occasionally acknowledging God throughout my day.

psalm 99 verse 5

Exalt the Lord our God and worship at his footstool; he is holy. I think it's really easy to focus so much on what Jesus did for us and to lose sight of the fact that we should be worshiping God on our knees.

psalm 40 verse 5

Many, Lord my God, are the wonders you have done, the things you planned for us. None can compare with you; were I to speak and tell of your deeds they would be too many to declare. It is easy to forget that God literally did everything. He made the world, made me, made all the animals, allows me to breath etc. Without him, there would be formless chaos. Thus, everybody should be thankful for everything in their lives.

psalm 67 verse 7

May God bless us still, so that all the ends of the earth will fear him. I think people often try to make God seem like this approachable nice guy who is like a close friend we can joke with. I definitely think God has that side and I feel as though I have the beginnings of a relationship with him. However, God is powerful and mysterious and I think having a healthy fear of him is warranted and good.

psalm 90 verse 17

May the favor of the Lord our God rest on us; establish the work of our hands for us- yes, establish the work of our hands this makes me realize that no matter how great our earthly accomplishments are, if God does not establish them, they are worthless!

psalm 25 verse 15

My eyes are ever on the LORD, for only he will release my feet from the snare. This makes me picture myself as a little animal of some sort with caught in a trap. Animals are not intelligent enough to understand how a trap works and thus how to get out of the trap. In the same way, I do not and cannot hope to understand the temptation of sin. It must be God who frees from the trap of sin.

psalm 38 verse 4-5

My guilt has overwhelmed me like a burden too heavy to bear. My wounds fester and are loathsome because of my sinful folly. I think these two versus reveal what sin truly is. It is a disease that will fester and destroy you is God does not cure you of it. You can ignore it much like you would ignore a seemingly minor cut, but eventually that cut will get infected and may kill you.

psalm 20 verses 6-7

Now this I know: The LORD gives victory to the anointed. He answers their prayers from his heavenly sanctuary with the victorious power of his right hand. Some trust in chariots and some in houses but we trust in the name of the LORD our God. I love the second of these two verses about the horses and chariots. When you think about it, people trust themselves or their tools that they use to do a job more than God. It is crazy to think that we put our trust in intimate objects or flawed humans over the perfect creator. If I stop doing this, I will surly be more successful in my endeavors.

psalm 31 verse 21

Praise be to the Lord, for he showed me the wonders of his love when I was in a city under siege. The city under siege is my daily life. I am constantly bombarded by unholy things (alcohol, sex, money, selfishness, and everything else this society values). Thankfully, the Lord has reached out to me and offered me a lifeline or I would certainly have drowned by now.

psalm 49 verse 16-17 and

Psalm 49 verse 16-17 Do not be overawed when others grow rich, when the splendor of their houses increases; for they will take nothing with then when they die, their splendor will not descend with them. Verse 20 People who have wealth but lack understanding are like beasts that perish. Remember what is important in life, money, high positions, a nice house, and many friends will not make you truly happy. Those things are not bad, but if you dedicate your life to them instead of God, you will ultimately become hollow. #is there anything in your life you place too much importance on?

psalm 30 verse 4-5

Sing the praises of the LORD, you his faithful people; praise his holy name. For his anger lasts only a moment, but his favor lasts a lifetime; weeping may stay for the night but rejoicing comes in the morning. This verse makes me realize that no matter how bad things get in my life and no matter how long these bad things persist, the Lord will make them better soon. Compared to an eternity of happiness, having a crappy month is not even a big deal. It is difficult to put this in perspective, but with God's help I pray to look towards a brighter future even in the darkest times.

psalm 98 verse 1

Sing to the Lord a new song, for he has done marvelous things; his right hand and his holy arm have worked salvation for him. In mass today the priest's homily was about how Olympic atheletes are not born Olympians. They must train themselves to fulfill their potential, and in the same way, we have to train ourselves to fulfill our spiritual potential. Singing a new song makes me think of doing new things and stepping outside our comfort zone to serve the Lord, and I think that is a good way to train to our full potential. Lord, I pray that I can step outside of my comfort zone during this upcoming school year of 2016-2017.

pslam 26 verse 2-3

Test me, LORD, and try me, examine my heart and my mind; for I have always been mindful of your unfailing love and have lived in reliance on your faithfulness. I pray that I can one day make this

psalm 33 verse 10-11

The LORD foils the plans of the nations he thwarts the purposes of the peoples. But the plans of the LORD stand firm forever, the purposes of his heart through all generations. I think this really shows that the world has no power next to God. Even nations can't make plans because it is God's will which will ultimately decide what occurs. So, what hope do people have of making plans. I should focus less on trying to control every part of my life and give in to God's control.

Psalm 24 verse 1-2

The earth is the LORD's and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it; for he founded it on the seas and established it on the waters. Last night at CRU we talked about the fact that God is the owner of all our talents and that we need to use those talents, time, and money to glorify God. We can't selfishly keep them to ourselves because they do not technically belong to us. This psalm made me think of this and made me realize I need to become better at doing this within my own life.

psalm 19 verse 9-10

The fear of the LORD is pure, enduring forever. The decrees of the LORD are firm, and all of them are righteous. They are more precious than gold, than much pure gold; they are sweeter than the honeycomb. These words are beautiful. Even fearing the LORD something which is usually associated with negativity is pure. We fear him because of his power not because he gives us a reason to fear him. Gold and honey, one of the most beautiful and one of the sweetest things on earth pale in comparison to God's righteousness. This is an amazing thought.

pslam 53 verse 1

The fool says in his heart, "There is no God." They are corrupt, and their ways are vile; there is not one who does good. The don't offend anybody attitude of common society makes me want to say that this is harsh. However, honestly, if you do not believe in God, there is no way you will ever have a good life because God is the source of all goodness.

psalm 14 verse 1

The fool says in his heart, "There is no God." They are corrupt, their deeds are vile; there is no one who does good. This is a bold claim, and I was apprehensive to right it down at first. However, after reflection, I realized I fully agree. No atheist or other non-believer can possibly do good with their life because God is the ultimate source of all goodness.

Psalm eleven verse 5-6

The lord examines the righteous, but the wicked, those who love violence, he hates with a passion. On the wicked he will rain fiery coals and burning sulfur; a scorching wind will be their lot. God is so often portrayed as loving and forgiving; it is easy to forget that he is powerful and if you are an evil person, he will give you what you deserve. This is a scary line that makes me want to live a virtuous life.

psalm 52 verse 6-7

The righteous will see the fear; they will laugh at you, saying, here now is the man who did not make God his stronghold but trusted in his great wealth and grew strong by destroying others! This is saying that people who do evil and make their lives good by stepping on others will ultimately be thrown down by God. There really is no point to having a job or a life in general if it does not benefit others and I pray that when I become a doctor, I always remember that I am doing it for the benefit of others and not to make money and have prestige.

psalm 29 verses 9-10

The voice of the LORD twists the oaks and strips the forests bare. And in the temple all cry, "Glory!" The power of the Lord is incredible. He only needs to speak to do all these amazing things, and it is crazy to think that he allows me to have a personal relationship with him.

psalm 92 verse 14

They will still bear fruit in old age, they will stay fresh and green. people fear age and most people are less productive and vibrant in their old age, but with the help of the Lord and with faith in him; I can do anything no matter what my age.

psalm 16 verse 4

Those who run after other gods will suffer more and more. This makes me think of how chasing after meaningless possessions, sex, and achievements will only ultimately cause suffering. I pray I never become obsessed with worldly goods.

psalm 28 verse

To you, Lord, I call; you are my Rock, do not turn a deaf ear to me. For if you remain silent, I will be like those who go down to the pit. Lord, without you in my life I know I would be a terrible sinner. Example A: when I was a young faithless highschooler, I was addicted to pornography, but since you have come into my life, my will has been strengthened 100 fold and I owe this completely to you Lord.

psalm 86 verse 16

Turn to me and have mercy on me; show your strength in behalf of your servant; I like the part of this line that says show behalf of your servant. I don't have strength to show, but I don't need it because God has strength for me.

Psalm twelve verses 7-8

You, Lord, will keep the needy safe and will protect us forever from the wicked, who freely strut about when what is vile is honored by the human race. This is especially relevant in my life as a college student. The norm of campus is sin (drinking, hooking up, being self indulgent). St. Thomas is great, but these attributes are accepted and encouraged by the American culture (money, sex, fame) and it is difficult to not be sucked into the culture of the time. I pray that the Lord can shelter me from it, and I believe he has begun to do so by bringing CRU into my life.

psalm 37 verse 16-17

better the little that the righteous have than the wealth of the wicked; for the power of the wicked will be broken, but the LORD upholds the righteous. money, power, and fame are nothing but dust in the wind. They blow away as easily as they came about. Why would I trade the eternal love and peace of the Lord for dust.

psalm 71 verse 18

even when I am old and gray, do not forsake me my God until I declare your power to the next generation your mighty acts to all who are to come I am in the process of discerning whether or not I want to go to medical school and this part of the psalm spoke to me. One of my primary goals in life must be to spread the word of God to my kids, and if I don't have a career that allows me to be around them, that wont happen. I pray to God for help with this choice.

psalm 36 verse 1-3

i have a message from God in my hear concerning the sinfulness of the wicked. There is no fear of God before their eyes. In their own eyes they flatter themselves too much to detect or hate their sin. The words of their mouths are wicked and deceitful; they fail to act wisely or do good. I know from personal experience that I sin the most when I allow myself to get wrapped up in my own life, my own achievements and my own desires. I need to turn to God and focus on his glory if I want to avoid these sins. Otherwise, it is easy for me to justify my sins.

psalm 93 verse 4

mightier than the the thunder of the great waters, mightier than the breakers of the sea-the Lord on high is mighty. The ocean is pretty darn scary and powerful, and the fact that the Lord is far mightier than it is amazing!

psalm 35 verse 10

my whole being will exclaim, "Who is like the LORD? You rescue the poor from those too strong for them, the poor and needy from those who rob them." I know God has protected me from people who would lead me down the wrong path into drugs, partying, and meaningless sex.

psalm 85 verse 13

righteousness goes before him and prepares the way for his steps I like the image of righteousness going before God and preparing people. It is important to live a righteous and good life and people who do so should be commended (for example the man Timon and I talked to today with the faith cards was a righteous and nice guy). However, I think this verse clearly shows that righteousness should lead to God.

psalm 51 verse 5-6

surely I was sinful at birth, sinful from the time my mother conceived me. Yet you desired faithfulness even in the womb; you taught me wisdom in that secret place. God taught us even before we were born and this really shows that we are loved living beings from the moment of conception. This passage made me think of how wrong abortion is.

psalm 65 verse 13

the meadows are covered with flocks and the valleys are mantled with grain; they shout for joy and sing. It is really easy to forget that all the food I eat (and I eat a lot) is from God. Without God's will, I would not be able to eat at all let alone eat healthy, and for that I am eternally grateful.

psalm 97 verse 5

the mountains melt like was before the Lord, before the Lord of all the earth. I liked this quote because mountains are so strong, but they are nothing to the Lord. It shows his strength well

psalm 58 verse 10-11

the righteous will be glad when they are avenged when they dip their feet in the blood of the wicked. Then people will say, surely the righteous still are rewarded; surely there is a God who judges the earth." It often seems like the people willing to step on others get ahead in the world, but they will ultimately be judged be God.

Psalm eight verse 3-4

when I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and starts, which you have set in place, what is mankind that you are mindful of them, human beings that you care for them. This makes me realize how amazing all of God's creations are (the entire universe!!). It is so incredible that he loves us above all other creations.

psalm 21 verse 9

when you appear for battle, you will burn them up as in a blazing furnace. The LORD will swallow them up in his wrath, and his fire will consume them. This is a scary line, but it shows how powerful the LORD is. I think it shows how he can destroy sin and evil if we give him the chance.

psalm 15 verse 5

who lends money to the poor without interest; who does not accept a bribe against the innocent. Whoever does these things will never be shaken. This whole psalm is about just being an upstanding person with faith in God. If you do that truly nothing will shake your faith or any other part of your life.

Psalm four verse 1

Answer me when I call to you, my righteous God. Give me relief from my distress; have mercy on my and hear my prayer. I think this verse really shows that God loves us and that he will and does answer our prayers. He is a God who is loving and willing to help us.

Psalm nine verse 19-20

Arise, Lord, do not let mortals triumph; let the nations be judged in your presence. Strike the with terror, Lord; let the nations know they are only mortal. I really like these couple of lines. In the context of being an American and belonging to "the greatest country on earth" they really hit the mark. America thinks its' so powerful, yet it is nothing beside God. America is a sinful country in many many ways, and if God wished to, he could wipe it from the face of the earth.

psalm 54 verse 3

Arrogant foes are attacking me; ruthless people are trying to kill me- people without regard for God. Honestly, this happens every day. People do not actually try to kill me; but they unknowingly or knowingly tempt me from the path of God. Some common examples are, people using Jesus' name in vain and me not saying something, people being disrespectful of themselves, women, or others in general, and vile things such as porn and pseudo-pornographic images all over the internet. I pray that the Lord can liberate me from these foes.

psalm 17 verse 15

As for me, I will be vindicated and will see your face; when I awake, I will be satisfied with seeing your likeness. It is saying you do not need the worldly goods and pleasures people over gorge themselves on. They will only leave you hungrier. God is the only way to true satisfaction.

psalm 87 verse 7

As they make music they will sing "All my fountains are in you" everything good and true originates from the Lord like water from a fountain

psalm 84 verse 10

Better is one day in the courts than a thousand elsewhere; I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of the wicked. This makes me think of the fact that not all things about the Christian lifestyle are the most fun. For example, sexual purity (it's hard). However, I would rather spend one minute in close contact with the Lord than experience hours of sexual pleasure

psalm 41verse 1

Blessed are those who have regard for the weak; the Lord delivers them in times of trouble. This is basically saying, be a nice person to everybody/the people who are weak and small. It makes me think of middleschool when the little weird kids got picked on and made fun of. There was no reason for that; they are God's loved greations just as I am.

Psalm one verses 1-3

Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers but whose delight is in the law of the LORD, and who meditates on his law day and night. That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither-whatever they do prospers. This is so true. Believing in God, giving time to him, and following his word creates the only optimal environment for success in life. Going against God will only lead to failure and false happiness.

Psalm ten verse 14-15

But you, God, see the troubles of the afflicted; you consider their grief and take it in had. The victims commit themselves to you; you are the helper of the fatherless. Break the arm of the wicked man; call the evildoer to account for his wickedness. There are people who believe they are above God and can deny him, joke about him, treat other people with disrespect, and do evil. They may have "great lives" in terms of having earthly possessions and a false sense of happiness, but in the end God will punish them for the evil they do.

Psalm five verse 10-11

Declare them guilty, O God! Let their intrigues their downfall. Banish them for their many sins, for they have rebelled against your. But let all who take refuge in you be glad; let them ever sing for joy.

psalm 100 verse 5

For the Lord is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations. I think this is the perfect quote for my 100th psalm. It's really easy to get wrapped up in Church doctrine and who is right and wrong (the little things). The most important thing to remember is that God loves us forever.

psalm 47 verse 2

For the Lord most high is awesome, the great king over all the earth. This verse shows that God is not just the king of Christians. He is the king of the entire earth. I think this verse really shows that God loves everybody and wants them to enter heaven by some means even if they are not the same religion.

psalm 48 verse 14

For this God is our God for ever and ever; he will be our guide even to the end. I think it is really easy to forget that God is our God until the end of time. This relationship will last forever; whereas, relationships with others in our lives may last a few months- a few years or maybe our entire lives in the case of family and very close friends. However, God will always be their. Thus, my relationship with him should come first.

psalm 66 verse 10

For you, God, tested us; you refined us like silver. Before silver is molded, it is basically a lump of dullish gray metal.

psalm 61 verse 2

From the ends of the earth I call to you, I call as my heart grows faint; lead me to the rock that is higher than I. When it talks about my heart growing faint, it makes me think of the fact that I am able to call to God even if I am weak and in a bad place (this is actually the best time to call to him) he will then raise me up to a place higher than I could ever achieve on my own.

psalm 60 verse 11-12

Give us aid against the enemy, for human help is worthless. With God we will gain victory, and he will trample down our enemies. It is really tempting to ask other humans to solve all our problems. We place the weight of our fears and issues on people like our family and friends, and they are merely human. Thus, it is not right for us to crush them with our burdens. Only God is strong enough to lift my problems from my back.

psalm 57 verse 1

Have mercy on me, my God, have mercy on me, for in you I take refuge. I will take refuge in the shadow of your wings until the disaster has passed. The disasters of my life which I can currently predict are the passing of my parents and other loved ones. I pray that I can shelter in your love at that time lord and find strength to carry on knowing that they are with you in heaven.

psalm 64 verse, 8

He will turn their own tongues against them and bring them to ruin; all who see them will shake their heads in scorn. This verse is talking about people who do evil and intentionally harm others. It is obviously not ok to do so. However, it is easy to say, oh nobody will know. This isn't true. God will always know and it will ultimately be God who will punish you.

psalm 50 verse 9-10, and 14

I have no need of a bull from your stall or of goats from your pens, for every animal of the forest is mine, and the cattle on a thousand hills. Sacrifice thank offerings to God fulfill your vows to the Most High. God does not ask us to sacrifice our food or possessions because those things are earthly and frankly, they do not mean much. However offering our thanks and truly appreciating what God does for us does have meaning. It is a lot harder to truly be appreciative than to offer money to God or to give up some food you eat every once and a while, but this offer means so much more than giving him worldly things.

Psalm three verse 5

I lie down and sleep. I wake again because the lord sustains me. Even the simple act of waking from ones sleep can't be done without God. I must be thankful for even the simplest things in my life.

psalm 44 verse 6

I put no trust in my bow, my sword does not bring me victory; but you five us victory over our enemies, you put our adversaries to shame. Lord, none of my tools, talents, skills etc will every accomplish anything. It is only through you that I can bring about any change in my life. For example, there is no way, I will be able to get through the rigorous schooling of medical school without your grace and love by my side.

psalm 27 verse 13-14

I remain confident of this: I will see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living. Wait for the LORD; be strong and take heart and wait for the LORD. There will come a time when Jesus returns. I may not be in my lifetime, but with his grace and love I will be patient and wait. While I wait, I will build a relationship with God. Also, I think this verse shows that I have to be strong and actively search for the LORD because the world is full of evil and temptation.

psalm 34 verse 1

I will extol the LORD at all times; his praise will ever be on my lips. This just shows that every second of every day should be dedicated to the glory of the Lord in some way.

psalm 77 verse 11

I will remember the deeds of the Lord; yes, I will remember your miracles of long ago. It's easy for me to forget about all the things God has done for me in the past and to just focus on the negatives of my present life. It's important to remember every blessing he has bestowed upon me.

psalm 74 verse 17

It was you who set all the boundaries of the earth; you made both the summer and winter. This whole psalm is about God's power and how scared his enemies should be of him. Although I don't think God is a vengeful scary God, I do think it is important to have a healthy fear for the creator of everything!!!

Psalm two verse 12

Kiss his son, or he will be angry and your way will lead to your destruction, for his wrath can flare up in a moment. Blessed are are all who take refuge in him. Psalm two is talking about how powerful God is. There is a time an place to fear him and if you upset him this will lead to your destruction. I agree because not following his word does lead to a life full of destructive habits. However, since he is so powerful, when I seek refuge with him, he will protect me.

psalm 96 verse 13

Let all creation rejoice before the LORD, for he comes, he comes to judge the earth. He will judge the world in righteousness and the peoples in his faithfulness. It's really really easy to forget that one day the Lord will come to judge us all. I pray that when that judgement comes that I can hold up to the standard the Lord expected of me.

Psalm seven verse 8

Let the Lord Judge the peoples. Vindicate me, Lord, according to my righteousness, according to my integrity, O Most High. I like this part of the psalm because it reminds me that even though God love me, he has the right to (and surly will) judge me based on how I live my life.

psalm 83 verse 18

Let them know that you, whose name is the Lord- that you alone are the Most High over all the earth. this psalm is asking God to destroy his enemies. I think it is within God's power to destroy those who appose him. Some certainly deserve it, but I believe God's mercy really shins through because he often seems to save those sinners instead of condemning them. For example. My roommate Tyler was an atheist in highschool, but God did not abandon or punish him. In Tyler's greatest time of need when he feared his breaking up with a girlfriend would push her to commit suicide. The Lord spoke to Tyler while he sang Sanctuary, and assured him everything would be ok.

psalm 95 verse 2

Let us come before him with thanksgiving and extol him with music and song I should be so jubilant about the Lord God that people need to tell me to chill out. I should be singing and skipping down the sidewalk. This isn't quite my personality, but I certainly think I could add a bit of that excitement to my daily life. Maybe be a bit more like KP and Rachel!

Psalm 13 verses 3

Look on me and answer, LORD my God. Give light to my eyes, or I will sleep in death, If you do not find the Lord and open your eyes through him, when you die, you will truly die and go to sleep forever, but through God you will live eternal life in heaven.

psalm 73 verse

Whom have I in heaven but you? And earth has nothing I desire besides you. I am at a turning point in my lift as I am in the process of considering a shift in career path from pre-med to chiropractic. I pray that I can take the fact that my life should be dedicated to God and not to my job into consideration, and choose the path which will best allow me to glorify the Lord.

psalm 78 verse 38

Yet he was merciful; he forgave their iniquities and did not destroy them. Time after time he restrained his anger and did not stir up his full wrath. the beginning of this psalm talks about how many times the isrealites disobeyed and disrespected God. Yet, he never unleashed his full anger on them. Speaking from experience, it's often hard to control one's temper. However, if God showed mercy on man and did not unlesh his temper, I have no right to do so either. I pray that I can always keep my anger in check.

psalm 59 verse 17

You are my strength, I sing praise to you; you, God, are my fortress my God on whom I can rely. Regardless of the storms raging within my life, my fortress will always protect me. All I have to do is accept God's love and protection.

psalm 88 verse 18

You have taken from me friend and neighbor-darkness is my closest friend. This is a depressing and scary verse. It's referring to what happens when God totally forsakes somebody and they incur his wrath. I hope to never have to actually worry about this, but it is important to have a healthy fear of God as Francis Chan confirmed in my Athletes bible study.

psalm 45 verse 7

You love righteousness and hate wickedness; therefore God, your God, has set you above your companions by anointing you with the oil of joy. The first part of this where is says God hates wickedness really struck of cord with me because it shows how perfect and amazing God is. I can't truthfully say that I hate wickedness. I wish I did, but part of me will always enjoy being better than others, looking at naked women (ex, I just watched Game of Thrones), and being narcissistic about my physique. All of these things are bad, and the fact that I enjoy them shows that I am flawed, and God truly hating these things shows he is perfect.

psalm 81 verse 9

You shall have no foreign god among you; you shall not worship any god other than me It is important to remember that God should be first in our life. Do not worship gods such as T.V. school, or friends.

psalm 91 verse 13

You will tread on the lion and the cobra; you will trample the great lion and the serpent. Often times it's easy to fear people who are loud and judgemental with their opinions. However, if we can trample lions and serpents, what do we have to fear from these people. Nothing they can do can hurt us.

psalm 68 verse 35

You, God, are awesome in your sanctuary; the God of Is Israel gives power and strength to his people. This is a quite long psalm about the glory, splendor, and majesty of God. I love this last line because it makes you realize that this all powerful being who honestly does would not have to have anything to do with us if he wouldn't want to gives us his power, love, and protection. He even died for us, and I am in awe because I have done nothing to deserve that.

psalm 63 verse 1

You, God, are my God, earnestly I seek you; I thirst for you, my whole being longs for you, in a dry and parched land where there is no water. The fact that it is for God that I thirst even when I am dehydrated and there is no water shows that I can overcome my bodily desires and direct my desires towards the lord.

psalm 18 verses 28-29

You, LORD, keep my lamp burning: my God turns my darkness into light. With your help I can advance against a troop; with my God I can scale a wall. I love this verse. I shows that without God, I can do nothing. My life would be full of darkness. This is true when I think about it. I would be a very prideful, shy individual who would likely degrade women and watch pornography (just had a CML talk on this topic) without God turning my darkness to light. However, because of God, I can do anything!
