Check to see if there are any elements in your survey flow between the 2 blocks (Branch Logic, Embedded Data, Randomizer, Web Service, etc.) if there is move it OR Move the 1st question of the 2nd block into the 1st block

What is the circuit breaker and how does it work?

Circuit breaker- It prevents emails from getting sent out as spam. You can't send out a certain amount of identical emails within a time span (this is why you have to change the subject line every now and then when testing out triggers and sending them a million times).

Updating Contact Lists & updating embedded data

Contact List Triggers -- Contact List Triggers allow you to construct your own contact list using survey results without having to manually add each contact separately. This kind of trigger can also be used to update an existing contact list with new information, saving you time and unnecessary steps to make sure your contact list is up to date. Once the survey link has been clicked, the changes in contact data will not show in the data, regardless of the participant's progress in the survey. Contact values are locked in as soon as the survey session has started! If you add fields to your survey flow after you have collected responses, the values will appear in your results! Fields will pull retroactively as long as the data was within the contact list at the time of response creation.

Q54 I've translated my survey. How do I make sure that when a contact list member is emailed the survey, that they'll open the survey in the correct language? Is there a way for me what language the participant completed the survey in?

Contact List: You can include preferred language in the language column of the contact list. Addtionally, Qualtrics will check their web browser setting to see which language they use to browse the internet. Anonymous Link:To create a survey link for each language, copy the Anonymous Link and append "?Q_Language=" to the end, followed by the appropriate language code from the table below. The newly constructed link will look like this: User Language is a survey meta data field. You can view it by adding the column in the Data & Analysis section

I deleted a distribution. Will this delete the contact list I sent this survey to? Will the contact list members still have their histories and will the data be connected to them? Will I still be able to to create a sample based on logic of the last survey they took?

Contact list is not deleted. Sampling will have to be manual by looking at the contacts that have/haven't responded in the D&A tab. Three situations: 1. Hasn't yet clicked on survey link "New responses are no longer being collected." 2. (Check this) Partial response "New responses are no longer being collected." 3. Has completed the survey before deletion, will show in D&A and contact history. - If they've opened the email, it will show in their history. Started responses will be tied to contact info. -People who have not opened the email can still be included in sample logic (if they did not start the survey, they will show up as someone who has not completed response)."

Custom Survey Validation- When you can set conditions in order for the partcipant to continue. You can create condition sets within CV. After setting conditions, you can create a new message or use a message from your message library. This replaces the default message. Survey title can be changed form within Survey Options, it changes what people read at the top of the tab or browsing window. By invitation only, you can only access wtih personal link, anon link is not available for distributing. Any anon link previously distributed will be broken.

I distributed my survey to a contact list, and have since deleted that contact list. What is the effect of this on my responses?

Deleting distributions or their associated contact list will disable any incomplete individual links from that distribution, including responses in progress; respondents will receive the error message "The URL is incorrect. Please double check the URL and try again." Anonymous and multiple completes links are not impacted. Even if the distribution itself is not deleted, downloading the mailing history will reveal if this list no longer exists.

Where can I go to see the link my respondent used to take the survey? (there's two options)

Email list triggers will send if there is a condition and the partial response meets the condition. If there is no condition, the email trigger won't send. Contact list triggers will not fire with partial completes. Respondent must complete the survey.

Q96 How do I assign each of my participants a random number, and put that random number into a contact list when they complete the survey?

Embed a Random ID field into your survey with the value being a random number. Then you can create an contact list trigger to update the contact list with that number.

If you want to use this, you would have to set an embedded data field for it or pull it in from the contact list.

Q85 If I reorder the questions in the Survey module, what will this affect?

It will not mess up collected data. It could mess up logic and it will effect how the questions are displayed to participants. You can reorder questions and blocks in an active survey, but NOT answer choices.

When an inline question is inserted in an email, the participant can click directly on that button. The survey will pop open in a new tab. Will the response to the inline question be automatically recorded?

It will prepopulate when the survey opens, but until they go to the next page, it won't be recorded! Work around is to add a timer to the first page with .1 second

QID5 I shared my survey to someone outside of my organization and put in their email. I know they have multiple accounts. Which account will my shared survey show up in?

It will show up within whatvever account they log into and manually enter in the collaboration code.

Know all options to add contacts to a contact list (*Import from a Survey, Add Manually, Import from a file). Note Import from a survey" is only available in the original contact feature. If you login to your AU1 account it has the new contact section called IQ Directory Lite and you'll only have the option to add manually or from a file. For the purposes of the test assume all 3 unless IQ Directory Lite is specified.

Prevent BB Stuffing- uses IP address to stop respondents with anon link from taking it twice by placing a cookie in the participants browser(good for voting). Anonymize Responses- IP address and location will not be recorded from anon links. Will remove identifying info from personal links as well.

Yes, just add the UserAgent Embedded Data Field in your Survey Flow and you'll have access to a lot of the same information as the Meta Info question. Note that you may need to find a UserAgent Parser online in order to read this information.

Yes, scoring categories can overlap where teh same questoin can fall within multiple categories.

You have to have three conditions per column: 1. The column is displayed 2. AND the count is < or = to 1 3. OR the column not displayed

QID199 I only want people who complete the survey (get to the very end) to increment my quota. (Quota logic questions are at the beginning of the survey.) How do I ensure that?

Your quota will be incremented when a respondent meets the condition(s) you have set and finishes the survey. Qualtrics will only increment the quota count if a respondent completes the survey. You do not have to add anything extra in order to capture only respondents who finish your survey.
