Ascend or Descend; up or down (y₂-y₁)

Run

Shift to the right or left (x₂-x₁)

Slope

tells the steepness of a line; rise over run = m; the vertical distance divided by the horizontal distance, (y₂-y₁)/(x₂-x₁) = m

y-intercept

the y-coordinate of a point where a graph crosses the y-axis; it's the b in y = mx + b

Slope-Intercept Form

y = mx + b m is the slope and b is the y-intercept
