The name of the game is chicken. Chicken is a game where each person holds a lit cigarette to a finger of the other person to see who gives in first. Typically, it leads to bad burns on the fingertips.

The way Ponyboy digs sunsets is gold. Johnny is commenting on how it is gold that Ponyboy can find beauty in everyday things.

They wanted to show the Socs that they weren't trash. The Greasers also think they might fight better.

10. Ponyboy breaks a pop bottle in the parking lot and threatens to use it and he really seems to mean it. Why is this fact so troubling to Two-Bit who is with him at the time?

Two-Bit does not want Ponyboy to turn tough like the other Greasers. He has never been that way and Two-Bit does not want him to turn into a tough hood. Nor does Two-Bit want him to waste his life getting tough. All the Greasers have seen what getting too tough can do to you.
