I think the implication of the ancient story is that no matter how hard you try, aging is going to happen no matter what you try to do to stop it. I'm a very academically inclined person and so I would love to live forever in order to learn about everything. While I would love to learn about anything and everything, I think following one's biological clock is more ideal. I would prefer it just in the fact that I wouldn't want to outlive my entire group of friends and family.
