Types of Concepts according to Dubin

Relational concept

Concept can be understood only through the combination or interaction of two or more enumerative or associative concepts.

Statistical concept

Concept that relates the property of one thing in terms of its distribution in the population rate.

Summative concept

Concept that represent an entire complex entity of a phenomenon; are complex and not measurable.

Associative concept

Concepts that exist only in some conditions within a phenomenon, may have a zero value.

Enumerative concept

Examples of this concept are Age, height, weight.

Associative concept

Examples of this concept are Income, presence of disease, anxiety.

Summative concept

Examples of this concept are Nursing, health, and environment.

Statistical concept

Examples of this concept are average blood pressure, HIV prevalence rate.

Relational Concept

Examples of this concept are elderly (must combine concepts of age and longevity), mother (must combine man, woman, and birth.

Enumerative Concept

concepts are always present and universal.
