Community participation affects viral videos because people spread the video to friends and family which makes it spread through out the internet. The community shares a video to people and people keep sharing it to each other which makes it keep getting popular.

The tastemakers are people who show others a new thing which will interest them which makes a large audience. If someone is interested in something chances are they know another person interested in the same thing which they will probably then share to that person and the cycle will keep going. It is important because they can give the create a lot of attention from a interested audience.

Why is internet video on social media sites like YouTube important? What influence can it have for individuals, businesses, and others?

Videos on social media sites like YouTube are important because it spreads a topic to people. An example is if you look up drag racing you will get a mass amount of videos on drag racing. It depends on the topic if it is a good influence on people or not. It can help businesses learn how to market and learn ways to make the company more successful.

Viral videos illustrate greater democracy of ideas because they show a wider audience then a text would. A example is when you text all your contacts that is probably like 100 people (trying to average) and out of those 100 people maybe 50 will reply. With a video you have 1,000s of people, and out of all of those people 80% or more will like the video. there is a higher chance for a video to go viral then a text.

Are social media videos a good way to market yourself to employers? Why or why not?

Yes social media videos are a good way to market yourself if you do it the right way. If you put a caption with your website and have a video which is interesting about whatever you need marketed then people will probably not exit out. It is all about approach. There is a right and a wrong way to market and if you market in a noneffective way then yes you wont get a good result.
