All who die in God's friendship and grace, but who are not perfectly purified undergo a purification in order to achieve the holiness necessary to enter fully into the glory of God in Heaven.

First it was not the action on the fathers part that required the son's death. It was our first parents' Original Sin that necessitated Jesus' sacrifice. The Father allowed his Son's death in order that the power of death might be destroyed and our friendship w God restored. The father also didn't force his son's sacrificial death. Jesus accepted his death because it was part of his divine mission in the work of salvation. It also showed the depth of God's love.

Jesus challenged their authority to an extent that they believed Jesus was undermining their authority w the common person. The couldn't put him to death for challenging their authority so they accused him of blasphemy.

Jesus experienced death as completely as we do. He experienced the complete loss of physical life that comes w death. Jesus went to the realm of the dead where the souls of all those who had died before him awaited his judgement. He brought salvation to all the righteous should who died before his own resurrection. His death and resurrection will bring salvation to the righteous of all times and places. Jesus completely established his power over all creation.
