A chemical reaction is a process that changes, or transforms, one setof molecules into another. When ice melts it just changes from a solid to a liquid, other than that it stays the same.

A spontainous reaction is a reaction that occurs by it's self, where as a reaction that is not spontainous has a trigger.

Chemic reactions involve changes in the chemical bonds that join atoms in compounds.

Chenists call the energy that is needed to get a reaction started the activation energy. Activation energy is involved in chemical reactions regardless of whether the over all chemical reaction releases energy or absorbs it.

3.a.

Enzymes are protines that act as biological catalysts.

3.b.

Enzymes speed up chemical reactions that take place in cells. Like other catalysts, enzymes act by lowering the activation energies. Lowering the activation energy has a dramatic effect on how quickly the reaction is competed.

If you change the protien the substrates and the enzyme won't fit together.
