Catalhoyuk

A Neolithic town in Turkey - people climbed into holes in the roof to get in their houses. Catahoyuk means "forked mound".

Neolithic Bulgarians

Ate grains the oldest know cooked cereal, made of bulgar wheat - dried grain was stored to eat throughout the year by adding hot water.

Mesolithic Age

Early humans hunted and fished and started to use new ideas for tools bow and arrows, nets and spears.

Found a skull in Africa (before that scientists thought origin was in Asia)

Settlements

Most early settlements were near rivers and streams, provided fish and transportation!

New stone age; was a time when scientists say early humans stopped being hunter-gatherers and settled down to grow crops.

Once early humans started to settle, they spit seeds out and noticed that they sprouted and grew.

Some of the oldest cave painting were found in France has been closed to the public after fining that visitors breath caused mold to form in the cave paintings, but a replica cave has been built close by.

The Iceman found in the Alps, a frozen body preserved in the glacier still in clothes and carrying tools. Scientists could see he had eaten a cracker, some plants, and red deer meat before hiking up into the mountains. He had tattoo marks that may have been from medical/healing practices of his time.
