ASA and AAS
vertical angles theorem
Angles that are opposite of each other and formed by 2 intersecting lines are congruent
congruent
Having the same measure
CPCTC (Corresponding Parts of Congruent Triangles are Congruent)
If 2 or 3 parts of a triangle in a triangle correspond to another triangle, satisfying the postulates and theorems, then all the parts of both triangles are congruent.
AAS (Angle-Angle-Side) Theorem
If two angles and a non-included side of one triangle are congruent to two angles and a non-included side of another triangle, then the triangles are congruent.
ASA (Angle-Side-Angle) Postulate
If two angles and the included side of one triangle are congruent to two angles and the included side of another triangle, then the two triangles are congruent.
non-included angle
One of the two angles of a triangle that is not between two given sides.
non-included side
One of the two sides of a triangle that is not between two given angles.
included side (of a triangle)
The side of a triangle that is between two given angles.
theorem
a statement that has been proven
postulate
a statement that is accepted as true without proof
reflexive property
an angle, line segment, or shape that is always congruent to itself.
corresponding angles
angles that are congruent on one side of the transversal line that cuts parallel lines.
included angle (of a triangle)
the angle between two sides of a triangle
