Herod began rebuilding Zerubbabel's Temple to make it more splendid but soon after the project was completed, the temple was destroyed by the Romans to put down Jewish revolts. Jesus was dedicated at his temple, spoke to the teachers in the temple and cleansed this temple twice.

Caesarea

Herod built this city, which became the major regional port city of that day. Its amphitheater and aqueducts were marvels. It became the Roman capital of the province of Judea, and was there when its governors lived.
