Binomial Expansion Math
nC0 is always
1
if a binomial is (a + b)^10, how many terms will there be in the expansion?
11 there is always one more term in the expansion than the number of the exponent since there is a term for when there is no X
Formula for binomial expansion
All the terms are nCr(a^n-r)(b^r) (in formula booklet)
If the question is just asking about the coefficient, what do you do about the x's which are also in the term of one of the expanded terms?
Just ignore the X's (take them out) if all it's asking for is solving for the coefficients
Binomial expansion
Patterns!!!
Consider the expansion of ((x^3 /2) + p/x)^8 . The constant term is 5103. Find the possible values of p.
