1. Social Communication -eye contact, verbal/nonverbal communication, understanding of body language, unusual social initiations 2. Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)

Restrictive/Repetitive Behaviors/Interests/Activities - lining up toys, fixed on certain things Diagnosis requires significant input from caretakers Treatment is highly individualized

ABC After School
Age: 9-13 yr Hours: Part time Only Team: 1-2 Therapists and BCBA Hours: 3:30-6:30 pm *Hard cut off at 14 yr* *Social skills only program* *Requires RCD Approval*
When to call your PL?
Any sticky situations with physicians offices Unable to contact a family who was preferred Documentation to be taken or picked up from office Unfamiliar practices sending referrals

Who can diagnose ASD?
Could come from a general pediatrician but most common is from a neurologist Licensed psychologist or psychiatrist BCBA's CANNOT diagnose

Inbound Lead for No Dx
No Dx B&E (Best Practice, not a determinant) ADOS (diagnostic toll we send to child's physician - DOES NOT produce a diagnosis) (BCBA who is trained or CD completes it) Tour Fax Results to Physician Physician Reviews with family (will either receive a diagnostic determination or recommendation) We will follow up with family - No Dx - Refer Out
What causes ASD?
No known cause but many potential influences -Genetic influences and family history -Prenatal influences -Birth complications No cure but ABA is best recommendation
Behavior Therapist (BT)
Not yet certified as an RBT through BACB Must complete 40 hr APF Modules Must attend ABC Training Center *Requirement is 45 days to become an RBT
Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)
RBT Certified through BACB 40 hr APF courses complete Competency assessment passed
Discrete Trial Teaching (DTT)
Repetitive, fast paced trails in a more contrived setting Decreased distractions Higher rates of reinforcer delivery Therapist led Goals Targeted: Communication, matching, fine motor skills
Clinic Operations Manager (OM)
Schedule and conduct interviews CEO's of the centers onboard teammates and families lead monthly all team meetings conduct all teammate evals create and maintain positive center culture driver of the business conduct clinic tours w/ prospective families
Clinic Admissions Associate (CAA)
Self starter and go getter attitude often first voice potential patient families hear for inbounds outgoing and friendly personality is KEY for success passion for customer service first face! extension of the OM
Board Certified assistant Behavior Analyst (BCaBA)
Some insurances will not allow for BcaBA Holds undergrad degree, NOT a masters Registered through BACB as a BCaBA and passed exam Can manage their own caseload of patients
Natural Environment Teaching (NET)
Taught in natural setting Generalizes across environments, people and materials Lower rates of reinforcer delivery over time Child led Goals Targeted: Social and play skills, generalization of skills taught in DTT, communication, gross motor skills
