mutation
a change in the DNA that cause the cell to not function properly
cancer
a disease in which cells grow and divide uncontrollably. cancer cells damage the parts of the body around them eventually causing them to stop functioning. there are more then 100 types of caner, it can occur in almost any part of the body.

radiation
cancer is exposed to beams of high energy waves. fast growing cells are more susceptible to being destroyed by radiation
surgery
surgical removal of a tumor. used when a cancerous tumor is detected before the cancer has spread to other parts of the body
chemotherapy
the use of drugs to treat cancer. drugs that kill cancer, or slow their growth, are carried by the bloodstream all over the body
Treating Cancer
there are 3 ways to treat cancer. 1) surgery 2)radiation 3)chemotherapy
