SUMIF function
a function that adds values in a range that meet multiple criteria
AVERAGEIF function
a function that calculates the average of values in a range that match criteria you specify
DATEDIF function
a function that calculates the difference between two dates and shows the results in months, days or years
COUNTIF function
a function that calculates the number of cells within a range that meet multiple criteria
IFERROR function
a function that can determine if a cell contains an error value and then display the message you choose rather than the default error value
conditional count
a function that counts the number of cells in a range that match criteria you specify
lookup functions
a function that finds a value in a table of data and inserts it in another location in the worksheet, such as a cell or in a formula
AND function
a logical function that returns a TRUE value if all of the logical conditions are true, and a FALSE value if any or all of the logical conditions are false
OR function
a logical function that returns a TRUE value if any of the logical conditions are true, and a FALSE value if none of the logical conditions are true
HLOOKUP function
a lookup function that searches across the first row of the lookup table until the lookup value exactly matches a value in the first row, and then retrieves the corresponding value from the second row of the lookup table
Approximate match lookup
a lookup where the lookup value falls within a range of numbers in the compare values in the lookup table
exact match lookup
a lookup where the lookup value must match one of the compare values in the lookup table
error values
a message in a cell that indicates some part of a formula is preventing Excel from returning a calculated value
conditional formatting rule
a rule that specifies the condition, the formatting, and the cell or range to apply the rule to
lookup table
a table that stores the data you want to retrieve with a lookup function in categories
nested IF function
one IF function placed inside another IF function to test an additional condition
VLOOKUP function
the function that returns values from a vertical lookup table
