Portfolio
A compilation of samples of the applicant's work; it may include letters, spreadsheets, reports, PowerPoint slides, or other items.
Job application
A form with a series of questions that request comprehensive data about the applicant, including educational background and work and professional experiences.
Resume'
A listing of all the applicant's vital data, as well as information about the person's education and career experiences.
Chronological resume'
A resume' that includes education and experience information in chronological order.
Functional resume'
A resume' that will list your skills first and then your work experience.
Blind ad
An advertisement that does not show the person or organization that placed the ad.
Professional Summary
An element of a resume' that may also be referred to as an objective. It is a succinct listing of personal data, qualifications, experience education, and the goal for seeking a job.
Letter of application
The letter that accompanies a personal resume'; it introduces the applicant and tries to arouse interest, prompting an interview with the prospective employer; also called a cover letter.
