Recycle Bin
An area on your drive that stores files you no longer need.
Snipping Tool
Application that creates screenshots called snips.
Real-time protection
Check for malware all the time.
Quick Scan
Check only areas on your PC that are likely to be affected by viruses, spyware, and infected software.
Full Scan
Checks all files and running programs
Custom Scan
Checks only, files, folders, and programs that you identify.
Quick Access
Displays a list of favorite and/ or frequently-visited locations and files on your computer.
Gestures
Dragging with your finger over the touch screen to form circles, straight lines, and taps in a specific order.
Quarantined Items
Files and programs that were found to have potential security issue that are isolated in a special location on your PC and prevented from running on your PC during a Windows Defender scan.
OneDrive
Free storage space on the cloud that is automatically created when you create your Microsoft account.
Windows Update
Lets you know when your computer was last modified with newer settings.
Windows Defender
Link, verify Real-time protection, Cloud-based protection, and Sample submission are set to on.
Unzipping
Process of opening and extracting the files from the zipped folder.
Snap
Quickly position a window to either half of the screen by dragging its title bar and the pointer to the screen's edge.
Cloud-based protection
Sends Microsoft information about potential security problems found in Windows Defender.
Sample submission
Sends Microsoft malware samples found on your PC so Microsoft can learn about potential security issues.
Screen Time
Set time, end time, and total time the device can be used each day.

To determine what apps and games can be downloaded for a specific age.
Action Center
Used to let you know that status of various settings and apps as well as when you have updates for your device available to download.
Restore
Used to reduce the window size to what it was previously.
