the least common multiple of the denominators of two or more fractions.
least common denominator (LCD)
the sum of a whole number and a fraction less than 1.
mixed number
a fraction in which the numerator is less than the denominator.
proper fraction
a decimal that has one or more digits that repeat forever. Ex. 2.33333
repeating decimal
if a fractions numerator and denominator have a greatest common factor of 1.
simplest form
a decimal that has a final digit. Ex. 5.4
terminating decimal
any fraction in which the numerator is greater than or equal to the denominator.
improper fraction
fractions that represent the same number.
equivalent fractions
a number of the form a/b (b not equal 0) used to describe parts of a whole or a set.
