Anchor the palms of your hands on the clients head Failure to stabilize hands will result in impossible tweezer control Tweezers pointing down and flat against extensitionsits hands

App Step 6: place extension in proper position

Blunt end (base) of extension first Reduces the chance of base lifting Small ball of glue

Recognizing Lash Extensions That Need Separation

Check 4 times throughout service From root to tip If it becomes difficult to isolate and natural lash Unable to run tweezers through lashes Find extensions or natural lashes stuck together

Things to remember cont.

Check humidity in room Too low and glue takes forever to set Too high and glue sets faster 45% - 60% Stringy glue? Old Left open Moisture level in air Almost empty

App Step 1: Apply the under-eye stickers/gel patches

Essential to applying eyelash extensions Gives extensionist a working surface Protects clients skin Contrasting background Separates upper and lower natural lashes Made with gentle adhesive specifically designed for delicate eyelid skin

Three Different Separations

Extensions to extensions Extensions to natural lash Natural lash to natural lash Take the time to search by starting at a corner of the eye and work your way to the other side. Separating along the way if "stickies" are found..

App Step 8: Dip the extension in the adhesive

Gently "pierce" the adhesive with the blunt end of the extension. Push the base through the adhesive towards your Pull the extension back through the adhesive away from your body. Repeat several times until 2/3 of the extension is covered.

App Step 9: Swipe and smooth

Gently spread and smooth the adhesive up and down the length of the extension. This is important because it removes excess and ensures that every area is evenly coated with adhesive.

Things to remember

How many lengths to use? personal preference 3 different lengths on average Short extensions support the longer ones Lash rotating after dropping? Extension too long, thick, or both Some is normal but not frequently Asses clients natural eyelashes

App Step 14: Smooth the adhesive

If a bubble or glob of unattractive adhesive appears after the extension has been set, use the side of the closed forceps to quickly smooth any beads of adhesive that are evident along the extension. Spend no more than 2-3 seconds doing this. If you are not able to smooth the adhesive in a few seconds, you have applied too much adhesive and did not spread it well while the extension was being swiped.

App Step 15: Repeat

Immediately after setting the last extension onto a lash, quickly wipe any adhesive left on the tips of the forceps between the forefinger and thumb of the gloved hand. Pick up a new extension and switch the other eye, remember to use the Navarro Speed technique. If the other eye is too wet in most areas, find a dry area on the same eye to work on. You will repeat this until every lash is adhered or until you are approaching 2 hours. Remember to separate in at least 4 rounds throughout your service. You can set a timer for every 20 minutes to help you remember that it is time to separate.

App Step 10: Isolate a natural lash

Insert the tips of the closed, curved forceps into the natural lashes Do not apply pressure to the sticker with forceps. Rest the weight of the hand on the client's head. Use a digging motion and slide the forceps tips away from your body towards the tips of the lashes. Open the tips of the curved forceps while sliding them out and away from yourself. To isolate an eyelash, quickly open the forceps. Select and isolate a lash that corresponds with the length and thickness of the extension selected.

App Step 2: Apply glove and dispense adhesive

Place glove on non-dominant hand. Apply double sided tape to glove Apply parafilm to tape Dispense adhesive onto the parafilm

Post Step 2: Remove the under-eye sticker/ gel pads

Remove the under-eye stickers/ gel patches by grasping the edge between your thumb and forefinger, and lift the edge off skin. Place the pad of your thumb that is nearest to the outer edge of their eye to avoid the sticker/gel patch pulling on the sensitive skin around the eye. Peel very gently toward the nose. Repeat to the other side.

App Step 4: Dispense Extensions

Select the desired length and thickness 15-20 extensions of each length Always sanitize tools before pulling extensions

Use silicone gel patches on clients with a history of allergies to medical tape or basic under-eye stickers. *10% of population *Perform patch test

True

App Step 11: Coat the natural lash

Use extension as a paintbrush to apply adhesive to the natural eyelash Lower the extension down on top of the natural lash and brush it along the length of the natural lash. Remember to keep both hands stabilized by resting them on the client's head at all times. Brush the extension along the length of the natural lash 2-3 more times to ensure that the natural lash is evenly covered with adhesive from root to tip.

App Step 5: Pick up an extension

Use straight forceps in dominant hand forceps should be at a 45° angle to the table Quickly grasp extension Set extension on back of the glove next to adhesive.

Post Step 3: Position tangles extensions

Use your straight forceps to position any extensions that may have been twisted or turned in a fashion that Is not parallel to the others.

App Step 13: Correct the orientation of the extension

Using forceps, Gently rotate the extension back into a position that is parallel with the other lashes. Hold/Support for a count of 5 seconds or until you feel the adhesive beginning to hold. Release the support If the extension resumes rotation again; repeat the above steps for 5 more seconds. Closing the straight forceps and using the side rather than the tip ensures that you will not get adhesive on the tips of the forceps.

1 through 6 Navarro Speed Application Method

When applying your fans, you should start on the outer corners and work your way in, alternating from one eye to the other after each fan is applied

Post: Step 1: Use the MiniFan for drying of the adhesive

When dispensing air onto the client's lashes be sure to hold the fan 2-3 inches above the eye. Be sure the adhesive is completely dried before applying water to avoid "shocking" the adhesive. This becomes apparent as you may see white residue where the adhesive is applied.

App Step 7: Orient the extensions properly in the forceps

hold the straight forceps perpendicular to the extension Pick up extensions 3 - 4 mm from the tapered end 90-degree angle to the tweezers
