Expanded form

A form of numbers that show The place value of each digit. Example: 263=200+60+3

Irrational numbers

A number that cannot be represented as an exact ratio of two integers. Number never terminates and never repeats. Example: PI 3.14

Common Multiple

A whole number that is multiple of two or more given numbers.

Adding instructing Homogeneous fractions

Add the numerator and keep the same denominator. Example:

Natural numbers

All positives and A nonnegative number like 0. List of positive numbers will include all but 0. No negative, fractions or decimals.

Algorithm =+-\

And established and well-defined step-by-step problem-solving method used to achieve a desired mathematical result. BASICALLY THE STEP BY STEP MATH PROBLEM SOLVING. LIKE ADDITION, subtraction.

Percent

Another way of expressing fractions in terms of 1/100 or 0.01

Real numbers

Any number that is positive, negative or zero and can be used to measure continues quantities.

Absolute Value

Distance of a number from zero on the number line. Represented by | | example▶️ |5|=5 or |-4|=4

Prime factorization

Every composite number can be written as a product of prime numbers.

Terms in multiplication

Factor and product.

Simplify or equivalent franction process

Find the lowest divisor and then simplify the fraction.

Equivalent or simplify fraction

Find the number that can be divided evenly with the numerator and denominator and divided them by each. Example

PI

Half way around a circle is 3.14159265 so is irrational

Exponential Notation

Is a symbolic way of showing how many times a number or variable is used as a factor. A NEGATIVE exponent indicates RECIPROCAL therefore we have to CONVERTED IN A FRACTIONS. Example:

Rounding

Is used to estimate as sum, difference,or product and to make mental approximations.

Greatest common factor

It's basically a number that divides evenly into. Largest positive integer that divides into the numbers WITHOUT producing a reminder.

Terms in Subtraction

Minuend on top. Subtrahend under minuend. Result is called reminder or difference.

Prime Numbers

Natural numbers greater than 1 that are divisible only by them self and 1. First 8 prime numbers are ▶️ 2,3,5,7,11,13,17,19.

Composite Numbers

Natural numbers greater than zero that are divisible by at least one other number besides number 1 and themselves. Example▶️ 9 it is divisible by 1,3 and 9. So it can be divided by three numbers,1 the same number and another number.

Rational numbers

Number that can be expressed as a ratio or quotient of two integrators. Repeating decimals, mixed numbers and whole numbers rational numbers. Example:3/5 or 0.6.

Expanded notation

Same day next expanded form but it shows the place value by multiplying each digit in a number by the appropiate power of 10.

Distributive property

Says that everything within the parenthesis needs to be multiplied by the number on the outside. Example: a(bxc)=a x b + a x c

Competency 002:

The teacher understands concepts related to numbers, operations algorithms, and the property of numbers.

Estimation

Used to make an approximation that is still close enough to be useful. Use the leading or the left most digit to make an estimate.

Integers

Whole numbers that includes all positive and negative numbers Including 0. INTEGERS DOES NOT INCLUDES DECIMALS OR FRACTIONS.

Scientific Notation

Writing and number as a product of a power of 10 and a decimal number greater than or equal to 1 and less than 10.
