Past Tense: Progressive - Usage
Actions in progress, but in the past. Actions which began before something else happens. Parallel Actions.
Present Tense: Progressive
Add -ing to most verbs without changing the spelling. If a verb ends in e, omit the e and add ing. A verb that ends in with a single vowel followed by a consonant doubles its consonant.
Present Tense: Simple (3rd person singular)
Add -s or -es stem to the root form of the verb. If a word ends in "y" with a consonant before the y, change to "-ies."

Past Tense: Simple
The regular past always in end in d. Verbs not ending in e, add ed. Verbs with a single vowel followed by a single consonant letter double the consonant and add ed. With a 2 syllable verbs, the final consonant is doubled only when the 2nd syllable is emphasized. When there is a consonant before y, the y changes to i and then add ed.
