You can run Error-checking by using the chkdsk command from an elevated command prompt. You can also access the tool through the GUI by opening Computer/Explorer or File Explorer/right clicking the drive you want to check/selecting properties/ and then clicking on the Tools tab.
msconfig
msconfig (System Configuration utility). Executable files that runs the Windows System Configuration utility, which enables users to configure a system's boot files and critical system files. Often used for the name of the utility, as in "just fun msconfig".
