Defining Audience
Concerted Audience
A group bound by the same goals as the speaker. and is very cohesive.
Passive Audience
A group of people gathered together to listen to a speech that they are not necessarily interested in hearing. (a group that is required to sit together and listen to a speaker)
Organized Audience
A group that fully agrees with the speaker and his message, and is the most cohesive kind of audience.
Selected Audience
A group that is required to sit together and listen to a speaker.
Audience Demographics
Age, gender ethnicity, organizational affiliation.
Pedestrian Audience
An audience of people who have no obvious connection with either the speaker or one another. Contains the lowest level of cohesion. (a group that spontaneously forms to listen to a speaker but shares no goals in common)
