Why is it important to keep track of your sources as you're researching and discovering information?
Eventually, for the sources you choose to use in your writing, you will have to cite those sources in a very specific way. Having complete information in your notes and being able to quickly locate those sources saves you time, makes you a more efficient writer, and should help prevent plagiarism in the long run.

A dropped quote is a sentence that just has the quoted information with no wording from you and no introductions or credit/attributive tag.; You blend in using an introductory phrase and blend out with your own wording showing how it relates to the other info in your paragraph, overall thesis, etc.
What is an in-text parenthetical citation?
Any writing in the body of your essay (in-text) that uses an outside source must have a citation. Parenthetical refers to putting the source info in parentheses at the end of the sentence (before the punctuation mark).

Credit found within the body of your writing is shown by using an attributive tag or a parenthetical citation for individual sources when needed. Credit found on the very last page is a complete list of all the sources used in your writing and follows specific formatting rules for the Works Cited page. They are connected because whatever sources found in the body of your writing should have a source on the last page. The attributive tag or parenthetical citation should match the first part of the entry in the Works Cited page (with more info included for the very first mention of the source).
