(Witch disappears) (Scene change) [as Merida returns to the castle she prepares a tea tray for her mother and places the tart on the tray]
Merida: I'd rather die than be like you! [suddenly Merida slashes the tapestry, a line between her and the rest of the family](scene change)
*cries*

Some say our destiny is tied to the land, as much a part of us as we are of it. Others say fate is woven together like a cloth, so that one's destiny intertwines with many others. never find it. But there are some who are led.

[Elinor growls at Merida in anger] [Elinor paces around and growls in frustration as if telling Merida off] [Elinor finds her crown and puts it on]
Merida: Mom, you're.... a bear! Oh, that scaffy witch gave me a gammy spell!!
[Elinor, now unable to speak, gives Merida a shocked and angry look]
Merida: No! What you've been preparing me for my whole life!
[Merida gets up in anger and starts to walk off]
Merida: Mom? So, ...I'll just tell them the wedding's off then?
[Merida hears a growling noise from Elinor]
Merida: Mom?
[Merida walks around to see elinor, she sees a bear making Merida scream] [Elinor starts freaking out and tearing up the room]
Merida: Your broom!
[she snaps her finger and the broom falls]
Merida: Mom! (Scene change)
[suddenly Elinor rolls off the bed in pain]
Merida: Mum... it's just my bow.
Elinor: A princess shouldn't have weaponry in my opinion.
[to herself on hearing this] Merida: First born?
Elinor: And thus, compete for the hand of the princess of DunBroch. It is customary for the challenge be determined by the princess herself.
Merida: I'm the princess. My whole life is planned out, for the day I become, well, my mother! She's in charge of every single day of my life. But every once in a while, there's a day when I don't have to be a princess. A day I can change my fate.

Elinor: I've just about had enough of you, lass! You just embarrassed them! You embarrassed me!
Merida: [sarcastically] That's a nice story.
Elinor: It's not just a story, Merida. Legends are lessons, and they ring with truths!
Merida: I choose archery! [Elinor turns to the crowd]
Elinor: Let the games begin! To your marks! And may the lucky arrow find its target!
Merida: And you're a beast! That's what you are! [Merida points her sword at the family tapestry]
Elinor: Merida! Don't you dare rip that tapestry!
She walks in
Elinor: Merida! Oh, I've been worried sick! I didn't know where you'd gone or when you'd come back! Well, you're home now. So that's the end of it. [Elinor smiles] Elinor: Of course, we both know a suitor will still have to be picked.
Merida : I am Merida. First born descendant of Dunbrock. And I'll be shooting for my own hand!
Elinor: Merida, I forbid it!
[Elinor looks for Merida and is surprised to find that she's not sitting down]
Elinor: Merida?
Merida: Mom! You're back! [Elinor hugs Merida and kisses her face repeatedly] Merida: You've changed!

[Merida turns and picks up the plate]

Merida: It's a peace offering. I made it for you! [Elinor's face is suddenly twisted a bite] Merida: How do you feel?
Elinor: What...what is in that? [Elinor starts to feel sick and puts the plate down] Elinor: Oh! I'm woozy suddenly. Oh, my head's spinning. [Elinor passes out]

Elinor:(gasps), they've all accepted.
Merida: You're a witch! You could change my fate!
The Witch: Woodcarver!
Merida: I want a spell to change my mom. That will change my fate.
The Witch: (eyes her warily) alright lassie... [the witch makes a potion and gets a tart from it]
Merida: Uh...who are you?
The Witch: Just a humble woodcarver. [witch is showing her wood carvings, Merida notices broom is sweeping the floor by itself]
(merida walks into shop)
The Witch: Oh, look around. You holler if you see anything you like.
Merida: Are you sure that will work?
The Witch: Oh, trust me this cake will do the trick, dearie. as shes leaving The Witch: Oh! Oh! What was that thing about the spell? (asking herself as she walks off)
Merida: I can't believe it! I found it! [she opens the cottage door but finds it completely empty] Merida: No! She was just here!
The Witch: Princess, I won't be back till spring. But there's one bit I forgot to tell you about the spell.
Merida: It was sweeping by itself!
The Witch: That's ridiculous! Wood cannot be imbued with magical property. I should know, I'm a wi...widdler...of wood!
Elinor: Merida, a princess,
