-America's prominence on world stage -technology (nukes, Information Age) has helped to reshape the presidency(ex:declare war)
Describe the president's role as an international coalition builder
-can use his position to build alliances or coalitions of countries to fight a military, political, or economic threat
List Congress's powers in conjunction w/the president over foreign policy

-meets with and persuades other world leaders -can mediate disputes between nations

Explain the War Powers Resolution.
The president must notify congress if he is to deploy troops (although he cannot declare war). These troops must be retracted after 60 days or unless congress grants an extension or declares war.
