This is the nation-state that occupies Britain and the north-eastern corner of Ireland, located in the Atlantic ocean northwest of France. The United Kingdom is officially called The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. It is divided up into five subregions: Southern England where London is located, Northern England, Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland.
