List two structural differences between Plant and Animal cells. How are these structural differences related to the ways the cells function?

Plant cells have cells walls while animal cells do not. A plant cell is made up of chloroplast where as animal cells consist of centrioles.

Describe the size & location of the vacuole in an onion cell. What does the vacuole contain?

The cells of an onion skin are generally rectangular in shape and range in size from 0.25 to 0.4 millimeters in length. It contains, waste products, water in plant cells, small molecules & maintains acidic internal pH.

Describe three ways in which algal cells & plant cells are similar.

BOTH: 1- posses green pigmented chlorophyll. 2- can produce their own source of food. 3- release oxygen

In what ways do fungi resemble plant cells? In what ways are they different?

Fungal cells have a cell wall, like the plant cells. But the fungal wall is made of chitin, whereas, plant cell wall is made of cellulose. ALSO Plant cells also have chloroplasts and are green. Fungal cells do not have chloroplasts.

List two structural differences between prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells.

Prokaryotic have no nucleus and have no membrane bound organelles . All bacteria are prokaryotic. All prokaryotes are bacteria. Eukaryotic cells have genetic information contained within a nucleus and have membrane bound organelles

Why are algae & protozoa placed in the same kingdom? Which Kingdom are they placed?

They are placed in the Protista Kingdom. Protista are all Eukaryotic, the cells have organelles, a separate nucleus and paired chromosomes
