What is an equation?

a mathematical statement that shows that two expressions are equal (it usually have one variable), (not always true)

What is a formula?

calculates a value using numeric elements in the flow (shows the relationship between two or more variables), (it's always true)

f(x) = 2x + 3 and g(x) = x² What is fg(x)?

g(4) = 4² = 16 fg(4) = f(16) = 2 × 16 + 3 = 35

Formula to work out force (Newtons)

F = ma m = mass (kg) a = acceleration (m/s²)
