Why are there so many different types of motivation?

Because each one influences behavior in its own unique way. No single type of motivation works for everyone. People's personalities vary and so accordingly does the type of motivation, that is most effective at inspiring their conduct. Everyone is different and has different ways of being motivated.

Extrinsic Motivation

When we do something it is to achieve, complete something/goal. E.g. Income levels, Good grades, other rewards

Entrepreneur

Combine/organise the other resources(land, labour, Capital goods) in New and innovative ways- in return for profits (for risk taking).

Intrinsic Motivation

Doing something for satisfaction, We are trying to satisfy our desires. E.g. Challenges us, gives us pleasure/fun, Morally right, Develops a skill
