The food of the people of the book is of two types:

1. Does not require slaughtering (vegetables, fish, fruits, rice). Permissible to eat. 2. Animals a Muslim is permitted to eat, that have been slaughtered (Chicken, sheep, cattle). A muslim has to say 'In the name of Allah'

What are the two kinds of dead meat permitted to us?

Fish and locusts

Are Marine animals permissible to eat?

Yes, it's permissible to eat them. The Prophet (PBUH) said, "It's water is purifying and it's dead (animals) are lawful (to eat)

Examples of forbidden things

1. Harmful plants and poisonous fruits (tobacco) 2. Pernicious animals (insects, mice and rats) 3. Dogs and Vultures 4. Snakes and scorpions 5. Wild animals with fangs (wolves, leopards, bears, foxes, cats, lions and tigers) 6. Birds with talons (eagles, shaheens, owls, hawks)

What are the two ways Wild Predatory animals and birds of prey are permissible to eat?

1. Lawful (Shai'ah) Sacrifice 2. Hunting

Why is hunting forbidden at particular times and in specific places?

1. Protection of wild species 2. Taking into consideration reproduction periods of animals 3. Preserving national wealth 4. Protect the ecological balance and beauty of nature

What's Lawful Sacrifice?

Butcher must say the name of God (Bismillah) upon slaughtering. Cutting the wind pipe, jugular veins and carotid arteries of both sides, but leaving the spinal cord intact.
