A chemical that tests for the presence of starch; it is brown in the bottle, but does black when starch is present

oxygen

a clear gas with no smell; it is found in our atmosphere (the air). Plants produce oxygen as a result of photosynthesis

carbon dioxide

a gas found in the air; it is breathed out by humans and other animals. Plants also produce it, but use lots up during photosynthesis.

chlorophyll

a green pigment in plants that absorbs the light energy used to carry out photosynthesis
