Praxis (Rubrics)
Single Point Rubric
*Breaks down the components of an assignment into different criteria *Only describes the criteria for proficiency rather than attempting to list all the ways students could fall short *Does NOT specify how students can exceed expectations, either *Columns: Concerns (empty box for comments), Criteria (prewritten explanation of what is expected of students), Advanced (empty box for comments)
Analytical Rubric
*Breaks down the characteristics of an assignment into parts (introduction, main idea, topic sentences, grammar, conclusion, etc.), allowing the scorer to itemize and define exactly what aspects are strong/need improvement *Justify the given score on the paper *Will use levels of performance for EACH part of the assignment
Holistic Rubric
*Overall score/comments *Lists 3-5 levels of performance, along with broad descriptions of characteristics that define each level (Beginning, Developing, Accomplished, Exemplary) *Only levels of performance for entire assignment, no mini parts as in analytical rubrics
