Unsafe acts

people cause accidents, and there is no way to eliminate unsafe acts performed by employees. This involves throwing materials, operative or working at unsafe speeds, making safety devices inoperative by removing or adjusting them, using equipment unsafely, and distracting/teasing/abusing/startling/instigating horseplay.

Personal Characteristics

personality, motivation, and so on, can serve as the basis for certain undesirable attitudes and behavioural tendencies (risk taker) which can result in unsafe acts like inattention or failure to follow procedures. Studies have shown that accident proneness based on personality is situational.

Vision

related to accident frequency for many jobs (passenger car drivers, intercity bus drivers, machine operators).
