Trail

A __________ is an ordered group of modules, projects, or both that provides a guided learning path to learning a new skill, product, or role.

Module

A ___________ covers a specific subject, whether it's a product, skill, feature, or role. While trails are great for comprehensive learning over an entire subject area, you can also mix and match badges freely.

Project

A ___________ is a series of hands-on steps that lets you learn Salesforce skills by putting them into practice right away. As opposed to a hands-on challenge, which gives you a set of requirements that you have to figure out how to meet, a project lays out step-by-step instructions for you to follow, then validates that you did everything correctly.

Trailhead Playground

A developer org specifically for Trailhead with Trailhead-specific data and a pre-installed package you can use to complete hands on challenges and try out new features and customizations. This lets you play around and make customizations without impacting anything else (in this case, your production org).

Number field

A field that stores only numeric values.

Units

A module is broken down into ________. Each of these covers a subtopic within a module and has either a hands-on challenge or a quiz at the end. When you've completed all of these in a module, you earn a new badge.

Lightning tables

A new dashboard component, available only in Lightning Experience, lets you put a better table on your dashboard. It offers: - Up to 10 columns and 200 rows. - Columns come from the source report's report type. That means that you don't need to add a field to the source report to show it in the table. -Show Chatter photos and conditional highlighting. - Are dashboard filter compatible. - Group and measure records. Application Programming Interface (API)

A set of software routines that allows one software system to work with another. This interface allows different pieces of software to connect to each other and exchange information. When you add a custom object or field, the platform automatically creates an API name that serves as an access point between your org and the database. Salesforce uses that API name to retrieve the metadata and data you're looking for.

Object Manager

A tool that lets admins access object management settings to view and customize standard and custom objects in your org.

TRUE

A validation rule can contain a formula or expression that evaluates the data in one or more fields and returns a value of "True" or "False." (T or F) When the validation rule returns a value of "True", this confirms that the data entered by the user contains an INVALID value.

Default values

An admin controls these values on the picklist in Setup mode.

Formula Field

An algorithm that derives its value from other fields, expressions, or values. This can automatically calculate the value of a field based on other fields.

Record-Level Security

An example of this level of security is when you can control data access with greater precision by allowing particular users to view an object, but then restricting the individual records within the object they're allowed to see. When object- versus record-level permissions conflict, the most restrictive settings win.

Promoted search terms

Are useful for getting more eyeballs on an article that you know is commonly used to resolve a support issue. Admins find the perfect article and then add terms to the __________________ related list. Users who enter those keywords see the chosen article at the top in search results. The maximum number of characters per term is 100. For best results when matching users' search terms, limit each ______________________________ to a few keywords. Don't go overboard. For best results, use them selectively, which means create a limited number of them and a limited number of promoted articles per term. Adding too many could affect the relevance ranking for users, leading to unwanted results. Your organization can create a maximum of 2,000 of these. Article search matches a promoted term whenever all keywords within the term occur within the user's search terms, in any sequence. Each keyword must match exactly.

Lookup Relationships

The Account to Contact relationship is an example of a standard relationship in Salesforce. The relationship between these two objects is a ___________ relationship. It essentially links two objects together so that you can look up one object from the Related List items on another object. But just like objects and fields, you can build custom relationships as well. They can be one-to-one or one-to-many. The Account to Contact relationship is one-to-many because a single account can have many related contacts. For our DreamHouse scenario, you could create a one-to-one relationship between the Property object and a Home Seller object. Typically, you use these relationships when objects are only related in SOME cases. Sometimes a contact is associated with a specific account, but sometimes it's just a contact. Objects in lookup relationships usually work as stand-alone objects and have their own tabs in the user interface.

Organization-Wide Sharing Defaults

These are the defaults that specify the baseline level of access that users have to records that they don't own. Configure your organization-wide defaults for what the most restricted user is allowed to access. Then use other record-level security and sharing tools (role hierarchies, sharing rules, and manual sharing) to open up the data to other users who need to access it. Note You can't set the organization-wide defaults for the Review object. This is because that object is on the detail side of a master-detail relationship, and, a detail record automatically inherits the sharing setting of its parent. So in our app, the Review object is automatically set to Private .

NPSP Health Check is an example of this for non-profits.

Roll-up summary fields

This type of field calculate values from a SET of related records, such as those in a related list. This type of field relies on a master-detail relationship between objects and this field must be on the MASTER object. You can create this type of field to automatically display a value on a master record based on the values of records in a detail record. These detail records must be directly related to the master through a master-detail relationship tho. Examples: A custom account field that calculates the total of all related pending opportunities. A custom order field that sums the unit prices of products that contain a description you specify.

Formula Fields

This type of field calculates values using fields within a single record. Rules for this type of field: Whitespace doesn't matter. Lightning Experience App Manager

Use the _________________________ to: - View all your Salesforce apps. - Create Lightning apps or connected apps - See which apps are visible in Lightning Experience - Easily manage apps

Record Types

Used for different business processes, picklist values, and page layouts for different users based on profile. All of these are stored as data fields in the org's database. When you update or create one, the search engine comes along, makes a copy of the data, and breaks up the content into smaller pieces called tokens. We store these tokens in the search index, along with a link back to the original ___________. 1. Subcategory of objects. 2. Allows you to offer users different page layouts and picklist values for different business scenarios, based on their profiles. 3. Allows you to funnel into appropriate workflows/queues.

Dependent Picklist

Users use this picklist to filter values for one picklist, based on a selection from another picklist or a checkbox (the controlling value) on the same record.

1) Developer sandbox 2) Developer Pro sandbox 3) Partial sandbox 4) Full sandbox

What are the 4 different types of Sandboxes? 1) All of your production org configurations (including custom objects, fields, etc.), but NO production data. Can be refreshed—or pull in the latest configurations from production—once a day. Good for development and testing. Because it includes all of your configurations, you can develop with the custom fields, objects, and other settings that exist in your production org, but it doesn't include any of your real-world data. 2) All of your production org configurations, but no production data. Can hold more data than a Developer sandbox. Can be refreshed once a day. Good for development and quality assurance tasks, testing, and user training. Better than a Developer sandbox if you'd like to use more sample data in these processes. 3) All of your production org configurations, plus a sample of your real-world data that you define using a sandbox template. Can be refreshed once every five days. Good for user acceptance testing, integration testing, and training, because it contains some of your production data. Seems more like your production org than a Developer or Developer Pro sandbox. 4) A full replica of your production org, including all configurations and all or most of the data. Can be refreshed once every 29 days. An ideal testing environment since it is just like production. This is the only type of sandbox that supports performance testing, load testing, and staging. You probably don't want to use Full sandboxes for development, though, because you can only refresh configurations and data every 29 days, and that refresh can take days to complete.

1) Visualize workflow 2) Limit work in progress (WIP) 3) Incremental and evolutionary change 4) Kanban includes metrics

What are the are four key traits of Kanban? 1) Work is divided up into pieces, each written onto a card that is placed on a wall (either physical or virtual). At Salesforce, we use a virtual wall, called Agile Accelerator. The workflow is mapped into columns, illustrating where each item is in the workflow. 2) Teams place limitations on how many work items are in progress at one time in each workflow stage. If they hit a limit, they help each other out by tackling things as a team to unblock them. 3) Unlike Scrum, which is a process that calls for far-reaching shifts in work process, Kanban lets teams embrace smaller and more changes along the way. 4) There are a few measurement systems used in Kanban: Lead time, which is the average time to complete one item, sometimes called cycle time. This helps teams optimize the process to make lead time as small and predictable as possible. Throughput: Defined as the amount of work completed in a single period of time. Kanban teams do not make the same commitments—and they don't have sprint backlogs. In other words, teams using this workflow are more open to taking on a last-minute request. When they're finished with a work item, they move to the next highest-priority task.

Planning meetings: These happen at all different stages of the project—drawing it out, it looks like a layered cake. Regardless of what stage the project is in, teams regularly meet to ensure they're aligned on the final outcome. Inspect and adapt meetings: We've talked a lot about how important it is for teams to take new learnings and apply them to the next sprint. This is the time they do this. These meetings are geared toward improving the process and the products.

Master-Detail Relationships

While lookup relationships are fairly casual, __________________ relationships are a bit tighter. In this type of relationship, one object is the master and another is the detail. The master object controls certain behaviors of the detail object, like who can view the detail's data. In a master-detail relationship, the detail object doesn't work as a stand-alone. It's highly dependent on the master. In fact, if a record on the master object is deleted, all its related detail records are deleted as well. When you're creating master-detail relationships, you always create the relationship field on the detail object. For example, let's say the owner of a property wanted to take their home off the market. DreamHouse wouldn't want to keep any offers made on that property. With a master-detail relationship between Property and Offer, you can delete the property (master object) and all its associated offers (detail object) from your system.

C.Which fields, lists, links, and buttons a user sees on related, details, and edit pages

With a page layout, you can control: A.Whether a user sees related or details pages B.The fields that display in the highlight panel C.Which fields, lists, links, and buttons a user sees on related, details, and edit pages D.The size of the margins of a page E.All of the above

Unmanaged Packages

With this type of package: - You can customize code and metadata, if desired. - To receive an upgrade, you must uninstall the package from your org and then reinstall a new version from AppExchange. -The contents of the package count against the app, tab, and object limits in your org.

Dynamic Record Pages

You can control when a component appears on a Lightning record page by adding component visibility filter conditions and logic to its properties.

Managed Packages

You can install these packages without worrying how it affects your org's app, tab, and object limits. Plus, upgrades are painless. With this type of package: - You can't view or change the solution's code or metadata. - The provider can automatically upgrade the solution. - The contents of the package don't count against the app, tab, and object limits in your org. Questions to consider before installing a solution: 1. Am I installing the package in the right org? 2. Have I reviewed the documentation? 3. Who needs access to the solution?

Power of One

You can use the _________________ on any object. For example, if you had a report with 10 accounts, each with three opportunities, your Opportunities report returns 30 records. Adding the Power of One formula field to Account allows you to see the number of distinct accounts represented in the records.

Global Actions

You create this type of quick actions in a different place in Setup than you create object-specific actions. They're called global actions because they can be put anywhere actions are supported. Use global actions to let users log call details, create records, or send email, all without leaving the page they're on. If an object page layout isn't customized with actions, then the actions on those object record pages are inherited from the global publisher layout.

Multiple Objects

You use this search when looking through multiple records at the same time because the type of record doesn't matter to the user. Or, perhaps the user actually wants to see _____________ types in results. FIND {term} RETURNING ObjectTypeName1, ObjectTypeName2, ObjectTypeNameYouGetTheIdea

Salesforce Path

Use this query when you don't know in which object or field the data resides and you want to: - Retrieve data for a specific term that you know exists within a field. Because this query can tokenize multiple terms within a field and build a search index from this, this query search is faster and can return more relevant results. -Retrieve multiple objects and fields efficiently, and the objects might or might not be related to one another. -Retrieve data for a particular division in an organization using the divisions feature, and you want to find it in the most efficient way possible.

Imperative Programming

______________ programming, otherwise known as traditional or code-oriented programming, denotes the means of programming by using certain coding languages — such as C#, C++, Java, and so on — to tell a computer exactly how to perform an action. This requires a skilled developer with programming knowledge. This developer will build the application brick by brick using blocks of code, usually in a terminal window or some other highly specialized development environment.

Single object searches

______________ searches are best used when users need a quick way to search through one record type because they don't want to be bogged down sifting through records that don't apply to them. To search within a _____________ using SOSL, simply specify that object in the request. FIND {term} RETURNING ObjectTypeName

Chatter Feed Tracking

_______________ tracking provides a way for multiple people to comment and collaborate on a particular record. The discussions and decisions are stored on the record so everyone can stay up to date on important decisions. All custom objects get this feature.

Compact layouts

________________ control which fields your users see in the highlights panel at the top of a record. They also control the fields that appear in the expanded lookup card you see when you hover over a link in record details, and in the details section when you expand an activity in the activity timeline. With ______________, you can highlight whatever your users need to see at a glance when they look at any record. Ex. Account name record showing highlights of that account in a quick snapshot when you hover over the account name. Now, when users view an specific record, they see the most important information where they need it most—at the top of the record page.

Component visibility

__________________ properties appear when you select a component on a record, app, or Home page in the Lightning App Builder. This behavior applies to standard components, custom components, and components from AppExchange. No need to do anything to your custom components. It's all handled by the Lightning App Builder. If you don't define a filter, the component displays on the Lightning page as usual. When you define one or more filters and set the filter logic for a component, the component is hidden until the filter logic criteria are met.

Declarative Programming

___________________ programming accomplishes the same results by basically telling the computer the end result and letting the computer figure out how to get there. In simpler terms, this programming denotes the kind of click or drag-and-drop solutions that allow someone without coding knowledge to build an application. The blocks of code are prewritten and packaged into components that you can just select as needed.

Sharing rules

_______________________ enable you to make automatic exceptions to organization-wide defaults for particular groups of users, to give them access to records they don't own or can't normally see. Like role hierarchies, are only used to give more users access to records—they can't be stricter than your organization-wide default settings. For example, you can allow all employees to view Positions, but use sharing rules to grant full editing access to employees in a role or group called Hiring Managers.

Salesforce Federated Search

___________________________ allows you to make the global search box an external search engine. When it is set up, we transfer the user's query to the external engine, which searches the external sources. The results are returned right in the Salesforce search results. We do this through a connector. The connector is built using the OpenSearch specification, so you can plug in any search engine that conforms to this industry standard.

Organization-wide defaults

_________________________________- specify the default level of access that users have to each others' records. You use organization-wide sharing settings to lock down your data to the most restrictive level, and then use the other sharing tools to selectively give access to other users. For example, you can give all employees access to an object called Candidate to allow anyone to add a candidate to the database. But you can restrict access to Positions so that anyone can see the jobs available but only the employees with the proper permissions can edit them.

KanBan View

can be set to show a graphical view of records in a list view. This view organizes a set of records into columns to track work at a quick glance.
