Steps to develop SOPs
1) Identify a process and it's owners 2) Draw a pictorial representation of the process 3) Talk to the stakeholders about the process map 4) Convert the process map into a procedure 5) Revise the SOP with stakeholders 6) submit for approval 7) provide training, make it accessible, store the old version
Why are SOP's important??
1) ensure the knowledge is transferred 2) processes can drift over time 3) training purposes 4) to document specific requirements for specific customers 5) provide some control over what we know works well 5) consistency
