Who was James Gibbs?
He was an Englishman who visited the United States in 1900. He brought some hollow celluloid balls home and began to play indoor tennis with friends using the new balls. Gibbs also came up with the name "ping pong" representing the sounds of the ball hitting the paddle and the table.
How is a point scored?

Scenario 2- "no spin"
Player A is using grippy inverted and player B is using short, medium, or long pips with a slight amount of grip. Player A gives good topspin and player B blocks. Player B's rubber slightly grabbed the ball, enough to kill the spin, but not enough to give his own spin back. The spin on the block is now "no spin."
