-charities -companies that support the cause -better infrastructure -cheaper costs -informing and educating people
Democracy?
-democracy is a type of government in which the people of a country hold the power to rule by electing representatives.
Developing vs Developed
-developing; under developed. e.g. some parts of Africa -developed; continuing to develop rapidly. e.g. Australia
Consequences of elimination of digital divide?
-economic equality -social mobility -democracy -economic growth
Causes of the digital divide?
-income -education -gender, age -availability; devices, connections -infrastructure -types of communities
Social mobility?
-it is a change in social status relative to others' social location within a given society. e.g males rising higher than women.
Economic equality?
-the concept or idea of fairness in economics, particularly in regard to taxation or welfare economics. -equality in money for everyone
On what scale can the digital divide occur?
Global, Region, Nation, Community
Example of places?
Places that are underdeveloped (i.e. developing nations) are the people most affected by this as they can be prone to having slow progress and development. The gap can create a rift between them and the rest of the world.
Digital Divide Definition
The gap between people who have effective access to digital information and technology and those who have limited or no access at all. The divide is not fixed or static.
