It comes before X-Ray light. It is produced by the sun, and it's frequency is just above that of visible light, placing it where it is on the scale. UV Light is used to map galaxys, stars, and astronomical objects. NASA's GALEX spacecraft has taken UV photos of galaxy M81. In addition, UV light can be measured to determine the quality of the ozone layer. If the layer is failing, more UV light comes from the sun and hits the surface of earth.
