Acromial End of the Clavicle

The Acromial End of the Clavicle is the flat end that attaches to the scapula. It is flat & kind of looks like a hockey paddle (Clavicle)

Acromion

The Acromion ("point of the shoulder"). It is the enlarged, roughend end of the Spine of the scapula. This projection of the spine of the scapula forms the point of the shoulder and articulates with the clavicle. (Scapula)

Clavicle (Collar Bone)

The Clavicle (collar bone) is a slender doubly cured bone like an S- shape - convex forward on its medial section and concave latterally. The collarbone bone connects to the sternum and to scapula. (Clavicle)

Coracoid Process

The Coracoid Process is a small hook-like structure on the lateral edge of the superior anterior portion of the scapula above the glenoid fossa. It attaches to muscles not to a bone. Corac "Crow' or " Raven". (Scapula)

Glendoid Cavity

The Glendoid Cavity is the shallow socket that receives the head of the humerus. (Scapula)

Infraspinous Fossa

The Infraspinous Fossa is the large shallow depression inferior (below) the Spine of the scapula .(Scapula)

The Pectoral Girdle

The Pectoral (shoulder) Girdle is part of the appendicular skeleton and consists of the clavicle and scapula posteriorly.

Scapula (Shoulder Blade)

The Scapula (Shoulder Blade) are thin, triangular flat bones commonly called "wings" of humans. (Scapula)

Sternal End of the Clavicle

The Sternal End of the Clavicle attaches to the sternal manubrium. It is the larger end that is club-shaped or triangular in the cross-section. (Clavicle)

Subscapular Fossa

The Subscapular Fossa is the anterior surface scapula of the that goes against ribs . It is the shallow concave shaped area on the entire anterior surface of the scapula. (Scapula)

Suprascapular Notch

The Suprascapular Notch is the notch on superior border of the scapula near the base of the coracoid process. (Scapula)

Supraspinous Fossa

The Supraspinous Fossa is the concave "bowl" area above the Spine of the scapula looks like a skateboarder half-pike. On the Posterior side of the scapula. (Scapula)

3 Borders of the Scapula

The triangle-shaped scapula has three named borders: Superior border, Medial border and Lateral border. The superior border is the shortest and sharpest border. The medial border parallels the vertebral column. The thick lateral borderabuts the armpit and ends superiorly at the shallow glenoid cavity that articulates with the long humerus bone of the arm. (Scapula)
