redemptive love is love that is willing to give everything, even one's own life, for the sake of redeeming, saving, or setting free another person. Jesus' suffering and death were an ideal example of his redemptive love for us all. he loved us so much that he was willing to go through such horrific, torturous pain in order to redeem us (all of the people of the world) from the chains of sin. he loved us so much, he died to set us free. his was the ultimate act of redemptive love. an example of an act of redemptive love is when percy, in spitfire grill, gave her life to give hannah's son, eli a new chance.

1. What is redemptive love? How was Jesus' suffering and death an act of redemptive love? Explain one additional example of redemptive love from film, historical or current events, or from your own life.

-We can trust the historical validity of the New Testament books and letters (ancient copies from close to Jesus' death) -The Resurrection was a consistent belief in the early Church -in all four Gospels, letters of saint paul, acts of the apostles speeches, the earliest christians accepted it as fact -the argument of the empty tomb -if the tomb was not empty, the roman and jewish leaders would have produced the corpse right away to put the rumors to rest. they did not do this -the resurrection appearances of jesus caused a profound change in his followers -most important evidence, disciples found courage to keep going with total conviction, preached about Jesus -throughout history there have been many great spiritual leaders but Jesus Christ transcends above all, because of the fact that he is the son of god, and resurrected from the dead -resurrection proves our own resurrection, and chance at eternal life

2. How do we know the Resurrection of Jesus was a real, historical event? In what ways does Jesus' Resurrection also transcend history?

-The resurrection confirms revealed truths: Jesus is the son of god (revealed the truths of Jesus' divinity) All jesus teachings: -claiming that god's love for us has no limits -claiming that we find fulfillment only by first loving and serving God and then by loving and serving others -claiming that forgiveness is more powerful and god like than revenge -teaching that the rich must share with the poor -teaching that we must refuse to accept the human made prejudices that separate us from one another *The Resurrection Opens the Way to New Life because of the resurrection, death is not the end

4. Why is Jesus' Resurrection so significant to Christian faith? Use one real-life example to explain how a young person might experience the grace of the Resurrection in his or her own daily life.
