First, power shifts from one political part to another by peaceful election. Second, tie in electoral votes throws election into House of Representatives. As a result, congress passes 12th amendment to constitution.
How did the Neutrality Proclamation have a negative impact on the US?
France thought that the US would help them in their war since France send aid to the colonies in the Revolutionary war. Instead the US stayed neutral. Led to an undeclared naval war between the US and France.
What was Alexander Hamilton's financial plan?
He proposed that the government assume the entire debt of the federal government and the states. Hamilton's next objective was to create a Bank of the United States. Created high tariffs designed to protect American industry from foreign competition.
How did the French Revolution eventually cause problems for the Democratic-Republicans?
It caused a political divide. Democratic-republicans supported the French Revolution, while Federalist opposed it. Eventually led to the XYZ affair.

Jefferson's and his vice president had the same electoral votes, the House of Representatives decided the election with 36 ballots, because their were many Federalist, and wanted Aaron Burr to be President, Alexander Hamilton wanted it to be right and Thomas Jefferson to be President. Made the 12th Amendment in which both parties would change peacefully.

Washington was convinced that the growth and prosperity of the US depended on staying neutral. It was issued in April 1793.
Marbury v. Madison
because this the Supreme court ruled judicial review which gave the federal government even more power. Reason was because John Adams made what is called midnight judges just before Thomas Jefferson was inaugurated. The judges were Federalist, and James Madison decided not to give a commission to a judge. This case made sure that only the Supreme Court had the power to say a law was unconstitutional.

it started in 1812, because of British Impressment, International conflict with commerce, and because of the remaining British troops that helped Native Americans fight against settlers. However, neither the British Parliament nor Congress desired war, but their people wanted war. There were a few significant battles during the war. British Capture of Washington D.C.; Battle of Fort McHenry, and Battle of New Orleans
Why was Hamilton's financial plan controversial?
many felt Hamilton's plan would unfairly reward wealthy people who bought revolutionary war bonds from the original bondholders. These bondholders, mostly merchants, farmers, and soldiers had sold their bonds at low prices believing the government would not repay them.
