project job shop processes process focused definition - they are typically small manufacturing systems that handle job production, that is custom/bespoke or semi-cusom/bespoke manufacturing processes such as small to medium-size customer orders or batch jobs. job shops typically move on to different jobs (possibel with different custoemrs ) when each job is completed Example in class - right side of the stage - Everyone did every step in production Low‐to medium‐volume production utilizing job shop or batch processes High variety of products with lower volume output Harder to schedule because work flows are more varied. Example of Project process = constructing a building Example of a Job Shop process = print job in a print shop

batch line flow continuous flow processes product focuses definition - systems in which labor, machines, etc are employed in the same manner on all jobs Example in class - left side of stage ‐ Everyone had a specific responsibility in the production line (fixed path) High volume and low variety, medium‐ to high‐volume production utilizing line or continuous processes Easier to schedule because the work flow is common. Example of Batch process = Bakery making batch of bread Example of Line Flow process = Lucy video example; automobile production line Example of Continuous Flow process = Oil refinery (non‐stop production process - it continuously flows)
