9th Amendment

Citizens have other rights then what are listed.

1st Amendment

Civil liberties and Freedoms of the People: -freedom of speech -freedom of assembly -freedom of religion -freedom of press -freedom of petition

27th Amendment

Congressional pay raises take effect after the next election.

7th Amendment

Deals with Civil Cases lawsuits: -right to trial by jury for amounts of 20$ or more

14th Amendment

Guarantees citizenship to all people born or nationalized in the USA. -Prevents states from denying life, liberty, and property.

25th Amendment

If the President dies or resigns, the Vice President takes over as full president.

11th Amendment

Limits the power of the federal courts to hear law suits brought against state government.

26th Amendment

Lowered the voting age from 21 to 18.

24th Amendment

No poll tax- free to vote

15th Amendment

No state can take away right to vote based on race, color, or previous enslavement for African Americans.

13th Amendment

Outlawed Slavery and outlawed forced labor except for a punishment crime committed.

18th Amendment

Outlawed the use of alcohol or Prohibition.

22nd Amendment

Presidents can only serve 2 terms

3rd Amendment

Prohibits the Government from forcing citizens to house soldiers during peacetime.

4th Amendment

Protects citizens from unreasonable searches and seizures.

8th Amendment

Protects from Cruel and Unusual punishment

5th Amendment

Protects the Rights of the Accused: -citizens entitled to due process -no one is denied to having life, liberty, and property -No double jeopardy -Limits eminent domain -rights to remain silent

21st Amendment

Repealed the 18th amendment or made alcohol legal again.

12th Amendment

Revises the procedure for electing the President and Vice President. -Requires presidential voters to vote seperatly for Vice Preident

6th Amendment

Right to a Trial by Jury: -right of entitlement to a lawyer -right of being informed of charges against -right to a speedy, public, and fair trial.

2nd Amendment

Right to bear arms

17th Amendment

Gave Citizens the right to elect senators.

23rd Amendment

Gave Washington DC citizens right to vote for President and 3 electoral votes.

16th Amendment

Gave the government right to pass income tax.

19th Amendment

Gave women the right to vote.

10th Amendment

Any powers the constitution doesn't specifically give to the federal government nor denies to the states or people, is given to the states or people.

20th Amendment

Changed when the President takes office from March to January.
