Believed humans selfishly pursued their own interests, no matter what effects their actions had on others, resisted making any contribution voluntarily to the larger society. Legalist and confucian ideas.
confucian view of human nature
are humans originally good/bad? evil is a certain kind of phenomanoon. evil is something you can observe in society, not somehting you observe. confucian see a good side and a down side/bad side. cofucian believe humans have a good and bad side. its such an antological principle. chinese do not accept that kind of mentalitu.
Mengzi (Mencius)
believe humans are originally good and proved by based on impitical evidence. not metiphysicial. simpally by looking at the daily life. 1, every human has a heart and mind byt being pain of others you feel bad.. mengzi said humans shouldnt feel bad if they wenert born good. even thieve may feel a little bad. thats impitical proof. believe that it is human nature. human nature is the sprout/beginning. beginning is important becasue you develop tht feeling that it is humanist .
Xunzi
believes ritual and education make human being good.
Mencius vs Xunzi
debate whether human beings are inherently good mencius focused on good in mind. humans born good. xunzi focused on bad in mind. human born bad and educate about good things. human have the tendency to do things selfish (not evil).

i believe humans are born good and pure because babies are pure and dont know anything. i belive you are born good and learn bad things. such as crying to get what you want because you see people react to it. if people stopped reacting to it when you cried then it wouldnt matter.
