Helena: O, why, this is a moment I could have just dreamt, So keenly aware of love blossoming. Yes, Demetrius. I accept thy court.

Helena and Demetrius: [Exit]

Titania: But she had been enamoured to thee once. Were thine affections so frail to be lost.

Demetrius: 'Twas Hermia's father whom introduced The courting of Hermia to mine mind And compelled me to discard Helena. He sought me as his son-in-law, and I Was hard pressed to refuse. Dear Hermia Is rich and lovely- how could I say no? My kin found no fault in an engagement And even encouraged breaking of ties That I did share with the dear Helena.

Titania: Hello, young one. What pupose in these woods Has called thee to takes steps before myself? I note thy confusion- look about here And thou shalt recognize the faerie court.

Demetrius: A thousand pardons for my intrusions! I am merely fleeing a witch-bred girl.

Haevan: Hermia shant stray from her own husband, leaving thee alone with no one to love. Lonesomeness is not too much of a hell, But thou didst love Helena once, No? Was she so truly terrible a match that thou forgot her so easily? A maiden devoted must have numbered flaws If such a rare devotion is tossed to the wind.

Demetrius: Flaws? Dear Helen has no flaws to speak of, Save the desperate notions of her heart, and there are few that would turn from them.

Haevan: Is it the lady Helen you speak of? For, of her, we have a count of secrets: Including the source of thine affections.

Demetrius: Hast thou found a way to prevent these foul charms? I fear of her curse to reclaim my heart.

Titania: I remember the tale my husband told- The dear Helena loving none but thee. Why is there no place in thine heart for her.

Demetrius: Here is a true fact- I courted her once. There was, in my heart, carved of her own form, A place which I held for her in tenderness. Such tenderness was a fault on my part And the dashing Hermia is my love. Her and I are meant to be- true soulmates As dictated by stars and her father. That Helena was a spring galavant; Hermia blossomed like the clear summer. Helena disenamoured herself from me With her incessant claims of true loving.

Helena: Hold thy tongue, Demetrius for I hath Gained a knowledge to still my pining heart. Endure not my desperate pleadings. I have no wish for thee to force thyself To love a woman which thou does not. The love I hold for thee will nigh be lost If only through my forcings of its end. Speak not, Demetrius, Thou art now free From the suffocating of mine own heart: Much wisdom have I gained on this night. Now To Athens; our wedding annulled shall be.

Demetrius: Hold, dear Helena. Wilt thou let me speak? Thou art no maiden of ordinary Senses. There is many a fool who hath- In their dire moments of mistaking, The gift of Athena having left them- Did turn away from a faithful maiden fair To seek out another of disinterest. I have done thee wring, Helena, to leave Our courtship in search of Hermia's hand. Upon this night, I ask for forgiveness of the crime against thee I did commit. Follow this please, the cart of my word under the heavens let me ask of thee To endure the courting of thine hand.

Lysander: Although, litle inklings of memories have danced across my mind upon this night. Things before lost to me, like an old dream. Perhaps, Duke Theseus, the wood shall do A kindness to our memories and mind; and reveal what has been clouded in a mist.

Demetrius: I believe I am in agreement with Our renowned Duke- as well as Lysander. Surely the fair Helena Agrees as well?

Titania: Sunrise draws near: Mine company and I asks thee to go hence from this sacred spot And, perhaps, to think on Helena.

Demetrius: I shall depart, But make no promises To think upon anything.

Helena: My sweet, thou lookest if thou art quite some ill. Never hast thou spoken less words to me- and on this night, one for celebrating.

Demetrius: In truth, my mind has been overwhelmed with too many thoughts to count, confusing me. Memories, I believe, art returning. Certain memories- this night, a year past. All in all the images are giving me a bout of confusion and a fright But nevermind theseus be waiting.

Titania: Hush, a mortal draws near.

Demetrius: O, would I have found my way free from this Disasterly, horrendous, Cursed woods. My single grace is solace from Helen, that mangy mutt of a woman, that witch, Who hast, with her oily words, poisoned The clearest sight of mine own heart's eyes.

Hermia: When I awoke, my Lysander had fled! O, this is all a confusing fright. Yet- I hope that we shall continue to learn. Dear Demetrius- hast thou not recalled A single thing from that night? Such silence.

Demetrius: Such silence? I suppose discovering one is married to a witch would do so. Those false, Cruel delusions of Lysander Were also cast upon mine own conscience By this witch of a woman before us How is it I find myself now married To some not mine own Heart's desire? And how is it Hermia finds herself Now married to this quite unworthy man?

Helena: Speak not under false tongue, I beseech thee!

Demetrius: This is no false tongue nor that cursed glance. What say you, Lady Helena.

Lysander: Where is the kindness we've seen in thy heart? Thou art is quite changed once more, Demetrius Please, let us see what else comes from that night. Our growing memories might have answers.

Demetrius: You, the lady-stealer, speaking to me? An unfunny joke, in all this madness. Fools are you all, for trusting Helena. Wicked girl, she will lead thee to ruin! And I refuse to go down that foul path. By morning's light, we shall not be wed. [Exit]

Hermia: For him we searched as well, but had no luck.

Demetrius: [Enter]

Titania: Certainly Not. This night is too pitchy for sleeping. Such a song would ruin the final breath Of calmness and peace that I do cling to.

Demetrius: [Enter]

Helena: Go ahead, I shalt be there shortly.

Demetrius: [Exit]

Titania: Farewell, boy.

Demetrius: [Exit]

Titania: Faeries, go hence, strange beings wander near.

Lovers, Royals, and Bower: [Enter]
